Ok, while I understand the idea of this thread, there are actual online communities that only accept women. If you wanted to find other female gamers to hang with, that'd be where to start.

On a forum filled with horny boys, not so much.

"Am I going to have to carry this round?"

"What classes are my teammates using?"

"Are they actually using equipment?"

You know, things that are actually relevant to the game.

Reminds me, not so long ago I was in a PUG with a Batarian solider. Together, we kicked all kinds of ass -- then late in the match, "he" speaks up and I realise that it's really a woman. I didn't care, nor was I surprised, but it made me realise how little I think about the player behind the character.

My personality as been compared, multipule times, to Jack from ME and Tex from RvB. A lot in both real life and via the net.

I would agree about the "possible use of a female protagonist" as a draw.

Team based games seem to have more women players than twitch-individual shooters, in my experience.
SOCOM (PS2), Rainbow Six, Borderlands, ME3 all seem more comfortable to female gamers than CoD like games.

Not sure about female protagonist?  I played all three ME games as fem-shep, and often choose female kits in preference (human novaguard say).
I think it's because if I'm going to spend 500 hours staring at someone's bottom, I'd much rather stare at a woman's bottom than a mans.  Or Quarian/Assari.

Not in a homophobic way, I fully respect people on BSN that prefer man-shep / men's bottoms, that is their lifestyle choice.
