And the OP just wanted to see if there were other female formers.

To which the appropriate response is... "who cares?"

Thank you Bryan. I would love to give this thread back to the ladies, but I just felt like I had to respond to some people.

She did. Why does it matter to you?

Why should female gamers, or female anything/anybody get special treatment? Is this the F'n dark ages? Last time I checked.... my mother made over a quarter of a million dollars a year alone, does she still deserve special treatment b/c she's female? I don't think so, neither does she.

That's where the animosity comes from... the expectation of being treated as 'special' or 'rare' because a female plays video games.

Since I've been alive... I've been told that women can do anything a man can. So if we are truely equals... why does a female gamer get special treatment? It's insulting quite frankly.

Having a vagina does not make someone special...

Do you think a "How many Black Guys are there playing ME3 MP" thread is appropriate? We are all human beings... no one gets special treatment except people with SPECIAL NEEDS!

Well you should see how many pages the "How many gay guys are there playing ME3 MP" got. Never went into it so I don't know if they got the lovely discussions we got here, but I sure hope not. I don't think that thread is actually locked either.

I agree on the idea that you shouldn't get special treatment, though if people want to make a thread to find people that are like them in whatever way they want they want and it's an appropriate link and actually genuine(so not just a spam thread to mock another thread) then they can make a thread asking for everyone who plays ME3 while wearing a blue hat for all I care.

It doesn't.

And it shouldn't to anyone else posting here, seeing as it is only peripherally related to the game

Or maybe I'm just horribly wrong. Maybe the next time I post a build on the forum I should include a disclaimer that I am a man, and if you are a woman you might want to try something different.

no one was asking for special treatment. Some people liked the female Shepard character more than the male, so they wanted there to be one of each Shepard, not to change it. And the OP just wanted to see if there were other female forumers. She wasn't trying to get any special treatment.

I'm going to ask you a very serious question: Why the F does it matter in ME3 MP or on BSN what someone's gender is? Srsly.

It literally has no place here, no relevance of any kind. It is nothing more than a mechanism for attention....

I'm done here... going to go have dinner with the family. Toodles.

I seriously can't believe how offended some of you are at this thread, the more you keep posting the more you look like you have some problem, no-one else.

This forum is for talking about the multiplayer AND meeting new people to play it with. You didn't end any thread. If she wanted to meet fellow female MP players why can't she make a thread to see who is one? This isn't about the fact that she is a girl.

Bryan's posted, but I think he didn't close it because he thinks it's a good idea, which it is. Maybe I'm wrong though, I don't know.

If this is a passive aggressive jab at me, I'm not offended... definitely amused though.

If I see something incredibly stupid, I'll call it out for being stupid. (I seem to remember saying this not too long ago)

Or maybe I'm just being egotistical and you were whining passive aggressively about someone else.

This will most likely be my last post here. I just need to get this out before I hit the hay.

If you felt the need to resort to insults and ad hominems in this discussion, you should probably just stay out of debates like this in the future. You only embarrass yourself and make those who share your opinion look worse alongside you. And ironically, you prove a lot of Stardusk's points.

If you believe someone is wrong, it should be easy to prove them wrong. You could provide peer reviewed sources and studies. You could make reasoned arguments and refute the central point using logic and examples.

But what you should never do is get emotional and resort to petty attacks on someone's character and namecalling. (You know who you are.) It only serves to prove you have nothing of quality to say.

This isn't to say everyone who didn't agree with Stardusk was being ignorant and childish. There were several quality posts in response to him.

Those making blind insults in the face of civil discourse should be ashamed

Okay, going to shut this down. Too much arguing and flaming. Since I'm in a Christmas mood, I'm not handing out any bans, but I will remind everyone about the rules of conduct here. Please keep them in mind when posting on the forums.

I may be asking too much considering responses such as "You're just too stupid to respond to" seem to be fair game here.
