Hello everyone
I read somewhere that : "Rogues and Warriors both get the same archery skills, it's the non-archery skills that will most determine your choice".
So i have decided to create a Warrior Archer, shoot from afar and swich weapons as soon as the opponent gets close and continue the fight in melee. I will be using a two-handed weapon in melee so keep that in mind.
I would really like some help in which would be the best 2 warrior specializations for a build like this one.

Thank you all much in advance

Take this advice with a grain of salt, but I've been told the best specialization for a warrior archer is Templar, as its offensive talents (Cleanse Area and Holy Smite) are ranged. As for the other specialization, I'm thinking Champion would probably have to be the other one, as it has some ranged capabilities too, though not in the form of direct damage. Reaver's talents are risky to use, since they drain your own health, and they intensify the effects of Threaten and Taunt, something an archer generally should be avoiding since you want the enemy AWAY from you. Berserker is all about melee damage, so that's right out.

Keep in mind that using a two-hander will generally not be as beneficial for you, as they're pretty slow and require a high Strength score. As an archer, you should be spending most of your points in Dexterity, since that's what your damage relies upon, and it's hard to build up two scores at the same time to keep your damage consistent.  The one archery warrior build I've seen invested in the Dual Weapon tree for backup melee damage.

But I'm no character building expert, so as I said, take these musings with a grain of salt.

In terms of what is "correct"  the DW-Archery combo is definetelly better, no doubt JTBehnke since they both only need dexterity. So the "The one archery warrior build I've seen invested in the Dual Weapon tree for backup melee damage." you wrote in your post was absolutely right and the correct way to go for this kind of build. But, i am just a sucker for 2handed weapons. No, let me put this clearly, i am a sucker for 2handed blunt weapons (Warhammer being my absolute favorite. No slashing an opponent, bashing him). For some strange reason i HATE swords. One handed or two. So i have NEVER used a sword nor do i intend to. Even if it is the greatest weapon in the game. I have been having these jinda fights with my gaming friends like forever. So it is 2h axe or 2 handed maul with the second being the desired one. ;)

Also JTBehnke answering to what you said: " I've been told the best specialization for a warrior archer is Templar, as its offensive talents (Cleanse Area and Holy Smite) are ranged.", i think that that is absolutely true. But i need an Archer that can strike hard when the opponents come close and i swich weapons. Nevertheless Templar will probably be my choice at lvl 14 cause of the excellent anti-magic capabilities. I am going for Berserker at 7. So thank you very much for your help ;)

Aren't crossbows str based weapons? I bought one for my bard saw the str requirement and had a fit. If this is the case then if you use a cross bow you don't suffer the setbacks from relying on two different stats and you could simply use the specializations of your choice.
