I would like to see a male Morrigan as a LI

Mainly to be an idealist. I'd love him -yeah, it should be a 'him'- to have an annoyed sarcasm, though not the obvious funny type. That's just getting overused (Alistair, Ogrhen, Zevran, Isabela, Anders, Varric, Merril...).

I always like characters who are funny, charming (but not in a 'perfect' way, ones you can have a laugh at), easy-going, morally questionable without being flat-out evil, and one where building the friendship is as important - or more important - than the actual romance.

So, basically: Isabela, Zevran, Sigrun, Varric and Awakening-Anders. Seth and Jansen (Lost Odyssey), Yuri, Judith and Raven (Tales of Vesperia), and some others I can't be bothered to list right now.

But I also like the more refined and controlled ones, who are again, a little morally questionable, and maybe dangerous in a more understated way than some of the more prominent characters. Bonus points for snarky wit.

Personalities such as: Sten, Samara, Shale, Javik, Aveline, Morrigan, Anora, Loghain, Ming (Lost Odyssey), Jade (Tales of the Abyss), Raine (Tales of Symphonia), etc.

For me it really depends on who/what I am playing as.

Human female rogue in DAO: Alistair

Male Amell: Morrigan

F tabris: Zevran

F, diplomatic, rogue Hawke: Anders

F, sarcastic, mage Hawke: Fenris

M, sarcastic, mage Hawke: Isabella

Usually I go for those who are kind, good and funny. For me it is not so much about their morals as it is their kindness and generosity. Personally I found Zevran's romance boring, but it suited my hotheaded city elf. So I guess just give me a variety of romances to choose from, that makes it fun to make different characters. And no Sebastian like romance please. That just didn't worked for me at all.

Well, it's not that I don't like LIs who are obsessed with sex (pertaining to what I said about Isabella). I'm just saying I don't see her as a femme fatale type like Miranda or Juno Eclipse.

I would really love to have someone like Selina Kyle a la Anne Hathaway as a model for an LI. For a guy, I liked the kind of guy Atton Rand was in KOTOR II.

It depends on what run through I'm playing as to who my ideal love interest is... (Though, in DA2, Anders ten times and counting) I like if the love interest is connected to the story itself or the romance changes things in the story. (Like human noble/Alistair)

Although he was used in that facepalm image, I'd prefer a guy as intelligent and as snarky as Gregory House (with blue eyes too). Or you can give me a clone of Daniel Craig in 007 mode - that also works.

Honestly, unless you're in a long-term relationship with someone, I find any answer to this question suspect.

For male LI, someone who is tough but doesn't afraid to show his emotions. A dash of humor and a strong sense of duty. Probably a mix between Kaidan, Garrus, and Alistair.

I remember trying to Romance Aveline and acting jilted during her personal quest.

Sticking to the DA only characters. I like Leliana and Zevren. I didn't hate DA2 ones, just they didn't stand up as well to those two.

A well-written character, to be sure, but beyond that, I'll have to agree with the person who said that it depends on my character.

This is not entirely ambiguous, however, because I tend to enjoy playing snarky good guys (a la Spiderman). So whatever love interest that interacts well with that sort of character would be ideal for me.
