She's promiscuous [nothing wrong with that] but she doesn't fall in love with just anyone. Kind of feels like you missed the point of the Isabella romance arc. She doesn't "not count" just because of her promiscuous nature.yesikareyes wrote...
In my opinion, I liked the love interests in the first Dragon Age than in the second one. Anyway, that doesn't matter. My friend and I were talking that one big factor that will influence our decision to pre-order is if BioWare reveals a love interest that will win us over. My best friend and myself are both fans of Morrigan, Anora and Miranda. Our dream is to have another tough femme fatale love interest. Isabella doesn't count cause she does it with just anyone.
What is your ideal love interest?

Jack and Isabela were LI's I thought were very well written in the sense I can see them as living breathing people. The both of them were so much more than what other NPCs and players thought they were at a first glance, getting to know them and seeing them grow as people was heartening. I like that their whole world doesn't necessarily revolve around me, they both don't give a damn what others think about them and they don't need to throw themselves at my feet.

Merrill from DA2 on the other hand, is a similar character in much but the interactions left much to be asked and the commitment to the love story was just weak. Not the way to go guys, Tali FTW!

"Do you stare at everyone like that?"
This is one of the many lines that can start a romance with Zevran. I was admittedly hesitant when it came to romancing the upfront "pervy" elf. First impressions are hard to get around sometimes. However when I delved deeper and asked Zevran questions about his past, conquests, and regrets I became enthralled.
Zevran has a very practical, yet somewhat optimistic view of life. Despite his outrageous flirting he respects your Warden a great deal to the point he asks their permission to go forward in a relationship. You control everything in the relationship with him, step by step. It was an odd surprise considering his upfront behavior. But what got me, really got me, was not the one kill he felt guilty about, but his poem. A rather terrible piece of poetry, even Zevran laughs at it. When asked why he decided to share it with my Warden, he said that she simply looked unhappy.
She looked unhappy.
That spoke volumes to me. Honestly, I teared up. What Zevran did for my Warden made her feel like she was not alone, and someone was watching over her. There was no greater surprise, and heartfelt moment than that.
I want more of this. More depth, more surprises, and more pathways into a relationship. I don’t care if the LI is as attractive as a toadstool, or has Bishop's sparkling personality – if they are written well, I will love them.

I'm not saying she needs to be able to sword fight or kill a group of mercs by herself. So long as she isn't like a stereotypical anime LI like Orihime from Bleach, I would consider her an LI for my character.

You know, we were kind of hoping Cassandra was a love interest in DA2... but maybe in 3 she could be.
Isabela is actually quite selective, and comments on it in-game. She even comments to Merrill that she hasn't had as many lovers as one would think, most likely because people take some of her remarks and stories and use that as a means to measure her, to exaggerate her past.
That said, I'm just curious as to why she doesn't count. Her romance arc and character development were quite well-written.
Well, in one of the banterns with Merrill she says how each of her crew members get "alone time" with her. So yes, she puts it out for everyone.

She doesn't say with her. Quite the opposite, in another convo she says she doesn't usually "let them (crewmates) touch her"

DA2 love interests for me as a woman were a wash out. I thought Anders was a desperate, whiney madman and Fenris such a misery, albeit a hot-looking sexy misery!! Too serious.
The gay options of ****ty Isabella or crazy skinny little Merril didnt appeal either. I think if I could have a gay relationship it would be with a woman like Liara, she is an awesome lady!
I think I need plenty of dialogue and chances for hugs and affection anywhere and everywhere. I loved that about DA0. Felt a real connection and fondness for Alistair eveen though in rl he would be too childish for me, through the game allowing so many romantic moments and chances to talk, I felt a definitive connection and desire to be around him. Had to have him on every mission.
In DA2 I avoid miserable Fenris and crazy Anders, they are both too extreme and no fun at all.

Love this post, I agree with you about Zevran, he was a sweet thing! I did prefer Alsitair in general but I romanced Zevran too; often, he was so loyal and very very loving. Also very funny!
Gosh I had forgotten about the NWN2 game. I loved the serious Casavir, that romance scene on the wall really blew me away. Shame their wasnt more like that.
The armours in that game put DA armours totally to shame!! Look how nice they are in that video and there were hundreds of different designs. That game was a gem!

That's a true point for many people but for me Im not one bit attracted to men who sleep with everything in a skirt in game or not. Even that aspect put me off Zevran initially in DAO until I got to know him better.
Id be surprised if many women like men who are easy. Just my opinion, I think its only other men who like men who get around a lot.

In my experience, many of the women do like "experienced" men (the line stops at cheating though). Both Zevran and Isabela are not really ****ty but are just very upfront about what they like. Zevran even stated that he's not a cheater. If you learn more about Isabela through her romance, you would know that she's using sex as a shield. She doesn't want to hurt people and doesn't want anyone to hurt her, so she avoids serious relationship as much as possible.Cell1e wrote...
