So I've been following the tutorial on how to create a custom class for DA:O.
http://social.biowar..._class_Tutorial

I cam across a problem when I reached the steps "Creating the UTC template file". In the class dropdown menu my class never shows up and I'm not sure why. I've gone over the tutorial many times and even tried it again using the translation pages that seem to have more information.

But no luck on my part getting it to show up :( I"m wonding if my version of Excel is too new to use to edit the 2DA files?

If you have followed the tutorial then I assume you have done this, but did you compile the edited 2DAs into GDAs? The processor will give you a warning if there are any problems. New versions of Excel are perfectly fine, as long as you save it as an XLS (and not XLSX). Again though, the processor will give you an error if there is a problem with the file.

No errors in the compiling to GDAs. The reason I questioned Excel was due to the following warning:

"The following features in this workbook are not supported by earlier versions of Excel. These features may be lost or degraded when you save this workbook in the currently selected file format. Click continue to save the workbook anyway. To keep all of your features, click Cancel and then save the file in one of the new file formats."

I wasn't sure if my work books were wrong but I suppose because they compile there are not errors in the formatting.

But I figured it out, I changed the ID's of the classes in the CLA_data, so that "Myclass" would be #4 thus making MONSTER_SPELLCASTER #26. So in the Toolset I had duplicate MONSTER_SPELLCASTERs labed MONSTER_SPELLCASTER(25) and MONSTER_SPELLCASTER(26). So I went in and fixed that back and it works fine now :)

Go to File -> Restore Environment. Sometimes the Toolset forgets about M2DAs and 2DAs in general and needs to be reminded

Make sure you don't overwrite anything. You shouldn't have to, and the classes you replaced may actually be needed for something.

I'm currently having this same problem. What do you mean by "fixed that back"? Did you move your new class to the bottom of the list (and so gave it ID 26)?
