Weight is an issue = Raider
Weight isn't much of an issue = Claymore.

Wouldn't the Wraith be the better substitute if weight's an issue?E_rik wrote...

What is the most OP weapon you can use if you figure out how to reload cancel, that will make an otherwise average player look like a god.

I think this is the answer as reload canceling is the issue, not the Claymore itself. I don't know when an animation glitch became a feature for shooters but reload canceling is a plague on multiplayer shooters. If you are going to allow players to reload cancel then make weapons have a chance to jam when they fail to properly chamber a round. Also, medi-gel canceling has made this issue even worse. Could you imagine what would happen if Bioware actually made it consume the medi-gel? Anyway, reload canceling is the problem, not the Claymore. This is also why ME1's weapon system was vastly superior.

But reload cancelling is part of lore. Video evidence.

Well the Raider is gold and so I have that maxed, I really don't know how some people have their URs maxed to be honest; my wraith is only level 3 so the weight difference isn't a huge one.

Claymore is otherwise superior to almost every other shotgun, I've been trying others, but the elephant sneeze is just superior, and by a substantial margine.
I too was skeptical for a while but honestly the claymore fits more niches than any other weapon in the game save for perhaps the black widow? perhaps the wraith on a caster where powers can fill in for the loss in stopping power.
However I do note that this post comes off my first game playing with the infidrell after several games with my favourite claymore salarian.

Claymore can be shot far away, for sure. But it's lacking of damage at longer ranges and couple that up with slow reloads with reload cancel... It can be pain in the ass to play with at times. And yeah, it is nice when you oneshot someone, blow their heads off, but it's not just reliable enough, even when you aim at the heads.
Claymore is good, but it's not great. I actualy like Crusader better, because it has 4 bullets in the chamber. Would still pick Raider over Claymore any day or Crusader.
You can spam Crusader, you can spam Raider, but you can't spam claymore. So when you find that enemy has those 2 bars of hp left, you kinda wish you had that other shot. With these two you have them and Crusader even sports fast reloads.

Not with the rate of fire it has. People seem to forget that Raider can pump out two shots in a row, without breaks.

The Wraith is miles better than the Raider on caster classes.
