sirian even though the crusader is pretty much trash for you, its really not bad for people with internet connections that dont come free with a 2 year contract from bob's cellphone emporium and bbq ribshack.
I hate the Cruisaider, yet saw people just destroy Reapers with it on Gold.
I hate the Drells, again saw players just dominate with them on Gold.
Just because I do not like it, or i can not seems to crack it's advanatges (characters and weapons), does not indicate it is bad.

Does not compute. You don't use the Reegar?
I just do not how it "feels".
A shotgun has the same, or should have the same idea as a sniper rifle. One shot in the head, target down.
To me, that is skill.
Naturally, bosses (Banshees', Brutes and Ravengers) do not have the same rules.

Alot of people don't use the Reegar b/c they feel it's a cheap, easy, 'I Win' button... which it pretty much is.
That said... I don't agree with that philosophy 100%. Why should I take it easy on the enemy? Are the Geth Primes going to take it easy on me? Are the Praetorians? How about those Phantom palm blasters.. do they ever miss?
I take this same attitude towards alot of things in life. Alot of Europeans frown on American spearfisherman because we are allowed to shoot fish on Scuba, and with Powerheads. They feel I should subject myself to possibly drowning because it's the 'sporting' thing to do. I think they should take a long walk off a short pier...

Isn't part of the 'nobility' of spear fishing the accute risk of death?

That may be so but considering the range on the Reegar...I'm more likely to be killed before I kill the thing I'm electrifying to death. Then again, I have to remind myself that this is the Bioware fandom and complaints are plentiful.

I hope they won't "fix" it with a patch. I like weapons with different mechanics. Not interested in a unscoped BW/Valiant/Paladin/Carnifex/etc.

The most noble thing about it is that there is no bycatch. When a fisherman brings a fish up from the bottom and releases it (because he doesn't want it, or is not allowed to keep it) there is a pretty good chance the fish will die from the trauma of the experience, if all the predators in the middle of the water column let him make it back to the bottom. This never happens with spearfishing... we see our target, shoot our target, and only our target. Nothing else gets harmed.
There is still plenty of risk in scuba spearfishing, because you're typically in much deeper water... and if you ever get decompression sickness (which I have).. you are often so far away from medical help that you're doomed. I had a friend drop dead on the deck and go into seizures 70 miles offshore... 34 years old with a 7 year old little girl... and not a damn thing we could do about it. We called the Coast guard and they said "they do not send out help to recover dead bodies." The 7 hour ride back to shore with your dead buddy laying on the ground next to you is a bit... unnerving.
I'm an ex-commercial guy... I've killed literally thousands of fish. I have nothing to prove by shooting a giant fish with a lineshaft and letting it beat the living crap out of me, rip my mask off, smack the regulator out of my mouth, trash my spear, etc. I did all that when I first got into the sport, paid my dues already. I lineshafted my 70lb Amberjack, and my 80lb Cobia... never EVER again. Now they all get a .357 to the head...
On another forum I frequent (spearboard) my sig is "Spearfishing is underwater grocery shopping". It's all about the harvest for me...
