The Witcher 2 which could be a great competitor is count as 2011 released, Diablo 3 is a
biggest disappointment for the fans despite the sell and review score.

This, Black Ops 2 would be considered an RPG then lol

BOP2 does not have an intrict loot system, upgradable stats and power trees.

Someone needs to understand what an action rpg is. Borderland's stat system says and in combat dice roll sysem says hello.

That does not make is a lesser rpg for not being traditional. It still counst asan rpg being that it is an action rpg.

Crysis 2 has a loot system, arguably power trees too and power upgrades you cannot collect completely in a single playthrough...but it is definitely not an RPG
For that matter darksiders 2 has power trees, insane loot system and level based progression but I would not call it anything more than an action fame with some RPG features...definitely not an RPG

For all we know nobody voted.....I'm certain some did but it's all irrelevant if nobody but the award givers see the scores. I could make page asking people to vote on games with only me seeing the votes and then one of the publishers of one of the games comed to me with a big check....I'd look at the votes, see it's not winning but I could very well say "screw it, nobody's going to know regardless"....."I can say whatever because only I see how many votes each game got and nobody else".

That is how the praised "people's choice"......in human history whenever the words "people's choice" has been used it's generally been a lie....it's a tactic to try to fool and shut people up.

Crysis 2 does not have a loot system. It a plain classic weopon pick up system with different mods on the same guns.

It just an action adventure shooter. It's no different then Metriod or Zelda.

but not because it very awesome, it's because other game just worst or I didn't play it.

And now with the conspericies. Please, stop trying to spin this. No one in any publiction is going to warp the vote just so a game can win a people choice award.

Live with the fact that the majority of the people like the game.

Yes mods that are dropped by enemies and RETAINED for NG+ purposes to tackle the game differently. And differently from ME's upgrades (BTW ME3 does not have a lot system either) actually CHANGE the functionality of a wepon (my favorite, DSG1 with reflex sights)


 
The staple of a RPG, ROLE PLAYING GAME is playing a role...in spite of the systems and mechanics themselves which have now been traditionally associated with it hence why crysis 2 and Darkaiders 2 are not RPGS


 
Oh and let us add Dead Space 1 & 2 to the list too and several survival horrors because they too have both loot management and inventories and progression

Yes, Diablo sold more copies. Therefore more people dislike it for being disappointing.

They should put things in perspective though. Diablo 3 didn't ruin Diablo 2. And the series was hardly the pioneer in immersive storytelling Mass Effect was.
