She is one of the few people that survives DAO regardless of what the PC decides. If Alistair is a solo king, then she is imprisoned. She could then be exiled without problem

If she remains Queen or rules Ferelden jointly with Alistair then she could have been overthrown or deicided to find the Sacred McGuffin Mathom of Andraste or something.

Either way, having her available is childsplay.

As a bonus, she brings all kinds of awesome to gameplay. She is machiavellian, brave and intelligent.

Lastly, she would make one heck of a love interest!

Too bad my character is married to her in DA:O.
And it seems he disappeared, so she has to stay as Queen, lest the country fall apart, or worse. Bann Teagan takes over Ferelden.

I didn't get the impression Anora was too combat-proficient. Also, just because someone in a previous game isn't dead doesn't mean they NEED to be anything. Least of all a companion, I don't really see Anora bringing much to the table and regardless, it wouldn't be as 'childsplay' as you seem to think.

There we disagree, I think she brings a lot to the table. She is Loghain's daughter after all, and it is quite clear that she has her father's brain. That means from a game and role playing viewpoint, she can be used to present the PC with the smart or expedient options for any decision. Since she was shone in game in armour and without a weapon, she can be any sort of fighter desired.

As for being childs play: Assuming the canon is Alistair rules alone, which is how the comics and books read, then Anora is free to head into exile to do whatever. Further, the comics make it clear that Ferelden royalty go on quests, so even if you import an ending, she could be off on a quest and run tinto your PC. As I wrote: Childs play.

While companion might be pushing it a little; her strength is her brains, not her brawn; I wholeheartedly support her return.
She was one of the best NPCs of DAO and if the story takes place in Orlais, then there is much she can bring to the table.

Ugh no! I really disliked her character. If she showed up as a companion I'd kill her the first chance I got. Besides she didn't strike me as a character that wanted anything more than pure power, she wouldn't quest with you unless it was in her own best interest and then she would stab you in the back if it served her to do so- not the ideal companion.

I do kind of wish my Warden could have recruited her into the Wardens for Awakening if she was deposed. That could have been fun, particularly if you were Queen. Not so keen on bringing her back as a companion now.

If Alistair is hardened, I think he implies that she's going to be executed if he survives the Final Battle; she gets to live for now because she needs to be alive if he isn't.

Edit: Obviously, this does not apply if they're married.

I support this. As Loghain's daughter she probably picked up a few tricks that would come in handy on and off the battlefield.

I always regretted not being able to marry her as a woman, so she definitely should be a s/s LI this time, too. The lonely woman of power finally finding true love in the arms of another woman. *sigh*

No thanks. I would approve if there was an option to kill her to be honest. Never liked her and never will.

Ah, so you're conveintinly writing off the people, such as myself, who have her ruling Ferelden alone. Just because something is in the books or comic books doesn't make it "canon." The devs have repeatedly stated that the canon they need to use in axuillarly material to tell a story does not overwrite your game canon. Nor should it.

Anyway, I doubt it's common practice for rulers to go on "quests" and not rule their kingdom for an extended period of time. I would take that as the exception, rather than the rule, such as medieval kings going on crusades. To think Anora would be irresponsible enough/trusting enough to leave her kingdom for an extended period of time without a VERY damn good reason (IE: life or death) is laughable. It's obviously more belivable with Alistair though.

That said, I'd love to see her back if it's approrpiate but, even if I didn't have Anora ruling Ferelden alone, having her as a companion would be forcing it. But there seems to be a good chance that Ferelden will play a role in DA 3 so hopefully we'll get to see her again, but as a normal NPC, not a companion.

Why the hell would Queen Anora be hanging around in Orlais with you when she has a whole country to run?

Funk no! It's lol cheesy lame in concept, and the execution would most likely be the same.

That didn't stop Anders from being a companion. Tough, personally, I prefer Anora as an NPC in DAI.

I'm sure my Inquisitor and Anora could reach a mutually satisfactory agreement. Ferelden becomes a staging point for templars while forbidding mage presence and in return, he helps expand its borders into orlesian territory.

But Anders didn't want power so I don't understand how they can be compared.  Also, Anders believes that by blowing up the chantry he is serving all mages- not just himself.  He was right because his actions lead to the fight with Orsino and Meredith- which in turn spurs the mage revolution.  Not the same at all.

Although I think she's a great char, I doubt she has much battle skills.

Besides, she could be married to either the Warden or Alistair (Alistair, in my case). So I doubt she'll be a LI. And not to forget that her giving up on ruling Ferelden seems to be very out of character. If she'll be exiled, or overthrown, she'd for sure be planning to take revenge on Alistair, or gain the thrown back.

However I'd love her to have a part in the next game. She is a really good character.

Anders wanted something apart from the PC above everything else and his wish for this thing lead to him betraying Hawke. The situation is, ultimately, the same. The nature of the thing is not relevant.
Besides, I could just as easily claim Anora wants the throne because she feels she is the better ruler and only she can lead Ferelden to an age of prosperity.

You do recognize that companions have to participate in battles? There Anora would be as useful as a tranquil with his hands tied behind his back. While I don't like her, bringing her back as a NPC could be interesting. But as a companion, she'd be ridiculous.

I do see where  you are coming from.  I think if that was my stance I would think the same (that if Anders can be a companion why not Anora).  I still, personally, believe they are not the same but I appreciate your point of view.

Anora, that battle hardened warrior who been taught combat instead of chivalry from an early age...

I would like an appearance. As for a companion there are little others in the series who are worse suited tbh.

Didn't Loghain say she was combat trained?
