Or if he had common sense, wasn't disillusioned by his "Final Solution" (Aka: Holocaust), and not an inbred child who's uncle was his father..
There's also the common shared thought that if he actually took (Goring, if memory serves correct) and pushed out the Messerschmitt 262 even so little as a month earlier... Boom, we would be speaking German right now.
There's also the fact that he was horrible with money/stragety. Thank god for that, ironically..
Yeah, sorry, my minor is in European History during the timeframe of 1920-1950.

Edit: Earlier, not later.
The Me262, as much as i love this warbird's looks, wasn't one of the bigger mistakes, just one amongst many other minor .Though Hitler did make one by wanting to make a bomber out of it, which indeed delayed entry into service, and put it into a role that didn't fit. An order that wasn't so respected in the end, at a time when Germany was probably already too strained in terms of quality pilots, materials, fuel and probably morale (eastern front glory...) to exploit it to its fullest.
Not that i regret it (german doesn't sound good to my ear!), but some mistakes seem so dumb when you look at them 70 years later!
They had so many failures, then you also had their suicide "squads" they used to take out Allied bombers when they still did daylight runs.. Pitty all those lives were wasted when they could have just gone to night-time in the first place. And true, looking back, we can see every little failure he did.. Kinda scary though - espeically with his plans to hit New York and all.
Personally, I think the SCAREST thing is that, I did a little research and found that during the war the ****'s put spys into the US, and specially, Jacksonville, where I currently live. It's quite irrie to go to a beach and think "... 70 years ago, an enemy spy could have swam up and gotten here to destroy us... Right on this beach."
And German is just... No thank you, I can barely keep up.. I think I'd rather have my tongue remove then learn it personally!
Also quite nice to finally meet someone else on the interwebz who I can actually sit and have an intelligent semi-conversation with about the past things, sometimes I want to shoot myself in the foot.
