Candlejack: your memory is short, I assure you that unreal was NOT the first game released for a platform, and I think you'll find that the first widely popular games belong to consoles. Nintendo got the ball rolling, not with a PC game, but with the SNES, which "saved" the gaming industry during a massive recession in gaming.
Console gaming started things up, and until mass PC systems are stabilized and locked at a set level, they will remain, also providing massive pocket for game developers. By the time PC reach the pinnacle of gaming, they will be rendered obsolete by the power of portable gaming, which IS the future, and WILL replace all platforms in ultimatum, until the creation of Stimulation-based or easily-localized/available augmented reality simulation systems, which are a touchy subject and will likely never get off due to the ethics and morality issues involved with creating exact or even near-reality simulations (Inception-style issues, such as loss of reality confirmation, making indiciduals perform abnormal actions resulting in harm to reality, mainly themselves or other people/organisms).
Portable gaming follows the same advancement style as other platforms. They are going to result in the end of gaming as we know it. Over time, they will be directly competing with higher-grade PCs, as the reality curve of game quality is clearly a curve.

My brother in law showed me those on his PS3. Then I showed him Crysis and Crysis 2 at ultra settings. Then I showed him PC high res modded Skyrim at ultra for good measure.
He never tried to argue graphics with me again.

Apart from rare cases you can toggle stuff to manually update drivers when updated drivers are available.
Problem solved.

After playing the aforementioned PC games? Yeah, I can. They look terrible in comparison. What can I say, they're held back by hardware from 2004.

And people who gripe about 1 or 2 year upgrade costs on PCs while touting the 6 to 10 year cycle on consoles conveniently forget that PCs can keep those 'good' console level graphics for about the same length of time if you don't actually upgrade you're hardware from initial buy.
You can't use graphics as an argument point. If they are 'good' on console then they are 'good' on lower end PCs that also cost less then thousand dollar 'high' end custome machinces.

The Me262, as much as i love this warbird's looks, wasn't one of the bigger mistakes, just one amongst many other minor .Though Hitler did make one by wanting to make a bomber out of it, which indeed delayed entry into service, and put it into a role that didn't fit. An order that wasn't so respected in the end, at a time when Germany was probably already too strained in terms of quality pilots, materials, fuel and probably morale (eastern front glory...) to exploit it to its fullest.
Not that i regret it (german doesn't sound good to my ear!), but some mistakes seem so dumb when you look at them 70 years later!
