Considering letting Anders live or die was a pretty big decision in DA2, what would your reaction be if Bioware thought he was important enough to bring back in DA3. If you let him live it's all fine and dandy, but if you killed him how would you feel about him returning as some form of spirit zombie, abomination or maybe even as himself, considering if you choose to kill him you only stab him in the back (no decapitation) i suppose he could return seeing his link to the fade and him being a spirit healer and all.

(I'm not for or against Anders, just wondering what people's opinions are.)

On a related note how do you feel about "retcons" if an explanation is given about how a character survives etc.

They already brought him back once when he could be "dead" in awakenings so I don't know if they'd do it again.

Only way I can see Anders making a cameo is in the Fade. They already brought him back once even if people had him die in DAA, another time would be too much. I personally don't care much for cameos, as the people had their part to play in their story, they don't need to intrude on other stories, unless they play a big part in it, like Anders did.

It's BW's world, they can retcon if they wish, some retcons I may like, others I may not. Until another character retcon is made, I don't have an overall opinion. I liked Wynne and Leliana, so I didn't care that they were kept.

But for the love of Dog, he better not be around long. He was the most whiney character in DA2 (though very funny in DA:A).

Mr Gaider has said that Dead Anders will stay Dead. And I believe has ruled out Justice possessing Anders' corpse too.

How about all the people who have died in DA:O and DA:2, that have some signifigance to the plot, just be reanimated by demons taking hold of their bodies. Why don't they just make Justice take over Anders body now, if they can bring him back from Awakenings, apperently they can bring back from any type of death.<_<

of course he will be back, with wings, empty burning eyes and halo over his head. he is a martyr after all.

p.s. i think he had a hope to die like Andraste, in flames.
p.p.s. Also Justice/Vengeance is no stranger in possessing dead bodies, so my money on burning eyes and halo.

Personally I think Anders has already played his hand, I cant really see him playing an important role in DA3 other than to be revered as a martyr or a madman depending on which side of the conflict you are on. If he is alive spared by your hand and has been able to evade the Templars up until the events of DA:I I think at most he will be found in self exile lamenting the set of events he set in motion.

If Bioware did decide to bring him back (I already know they won't) then it wouldn't be surprising. Anders is pretty much an Abomination and they don't go down that damn easily unless they want to. Unless Hawke chopped Anders head off it isn't unlikely for Anders/Justice to come back.
