Considering letting Anders live or die was a pretty big decision in DA2, what would your reaction be if Bioware thought he was important enough to bring back in DA3. If you let him live it's all fine and dandy, but if you killed him how would you feel about him returning as some form of spirit zombie, abomination or maybe even as himself, considering if you choose to kill him you only stab him in the back (no decapitation) i suppose he could return seeing his link to the fade and him being a spirit healer and all.
(I'm not for or against Anders, just wondering what people's opinions are.)
On a related note how do you feel about "retcons" if an explanation is given about how a character survives etc.

Cantina, I cracked up over your signature. Not trying to go off topic but what prompted David to say that? What thread was this taken off of?

I think he was a great character.AllegedVixEo wrote...
Am I the only person who actually really likes Anders character?! I thought the character development from pre-Justice Awakening to post-Justice DA2 was awesome!
Indeed. While I've certainly no aversion towards doing such a thing if the story called for it (though a possessed Anders corpse would be pretty silly even for a hand-wave... I think I'd have an aversion to that), a dead Anders will remain dead.
If you believe Anders, then Justice would have been freed. If not, then Justice was destroyed along with him.
Either way, Justice won't be possessing Anders' corpse. A dead Anders is gone.
I'll leave that to speculation, though I doubt that would be a good solution. It certainly would not have simply killed Justice and freed Anders, at any rate.

Plus if you kill him, he just becomes a martyr for the Mage cause.Parmida wrote...
I let him live. Just for lulz.
Being on run and hunted is more torturous to him than easily dying by a knife...and I'll have fun watching him hauling his ass around. And it also gives him a bit of his own medicine for putting all mages in hell.
Anders didn't make things any better for mages he made it worse.Hell the inquisitor can probably do more for mages than Anders ever couldLord Raijin wrote...

Go mages!
I believe Mary Kirby already confirmed Anders stays dead probably since his death scene is actually a major choice unlike the whole Leliana thing or killing Oghren.manbobjoe wrote...
It wouldn't be a retcon to bring Anders back, Justice(or should I say Vengance) is a demon now and is possessing Anders making him an abomination. Last I checked abominations can survive a whole lot more punishment than Anders received in his death scene. That being said I never kill Anders, but I also have no desire to see him in DA:I either way.
