Agreed. Synthesis is just a prettier word for Forced Eugenics via space magic. I'm slow trust and accept something some of the worse people in history wanted as well.

no, actually the proclamation of such IS forced eugenics. (and/or the complete mis understanding of what eugenics represents.) I'm of the opinion that the eugenisis arguement is white boxed generic application, for the sake of arguement..but that's probably just me..lol

I'm not arguing you should choose Synthesis. I'm refuting inaccurate claims about it.

And like you said, it doesn't remove differences. And in fact, it doesn't change the understanding of organics. It changes Synthetics understanding of organics. It is an addition to their knowledge, not a change in it. No mass indoctrination going on here.

An addition that changes their entire understanding of organic life to prevent an apparent inevitability.

That's indoctrination. They've been changed to think in a different way about organics.

I'm pretty sure, certain, almost, that the same thing happens vice versa, organics change to understand organics. That's made pretty clear in the epilogue.

Shepard's implants, other cyborging, biotic implants, etc.

Natural progression, which are both optional to individuals and are technology the galaxy understands and is ready for.

Nobody knew what teh Crucible did or how to activate it until teh Catalyst stepped in.  Heck no one knew what it did while they were building it using the equivalent of Dick and Jane instructions left by the Protheans.

somone/thing knew, but it's important, that Shep didn't get to find out...ever?!?

I't s important that Shepard (and the galaxy at large) learn for themselves.  Not take shortcuts.

The races are not ready for it. They do not understand its responsibilities. Understanding or not, another war would eventually be inevitable, because someone with their newfound power, would want to find themselves the superior race.

"We are not ready" is the eternal defense of the traditionalist. We learn to handle things after we have acquired them, not before. It has always been so.

Ah, and no progression is more natural than another. Technology exchange, by trade or by force, has been the norm for all of human history.

There are no organics to gain an understanding post-green beam. That's what many find an abomination. The permanent end to organic life. Replaced by something else.

I guess the catalyst is only a few billion years old, so they did kind of take a short cut,eh?

Nah, they just don't get to understand the choice enough, I cannot blame them for being upset over it. Nobody likes super nova, but nature still persists in providing them to change the galaxies. Stupid nature!! sheesh..Posted Image

So... progress is traditional, then? We wouldn't want that, would we?

I like how you just lump people in categories. The whole idea of this thread is that Synthesis removes the unique qualities presented by each race/individual. The individuality is gone, when there is nothing to strive for.

Synthesis is neither good or evil

The only two negative things can be:
- reapers are alive and FREE. It they want, they can be the dominat specie and rule the galaxy. For sometimes, at least. In any case, they could be a really serious problem even now. Or maybe not, who knows.
- like Legion once said, accepting "from above" one other's technology blinds that race/civilization to only one path and does not allow them to find their own unique way of solving a problem. I agree with that. Going from A to Z is not always the best choice.

and, but this is my personal taste, it's very unaesthetic. Glowing eyes, half synthetic leaves and sexbot becoming real person... maker help us all...

but these are just speculations.

you wouldn't complain if Edi was YOUR sexbot..lol  We, organics probably shouldn't of built that pesky intelligence either, but nature always takes its course. Pure evil, that..heheh
