Yeah, I was a little aggressive with my post to attack that but I feel it should be pointed out. In concept, Synthesis is more advanced than the others. That has little impact on its execution, however. The fact that they're all demonstrated the same would imply they're all as technologically advanced as each other.

I don't know if the Catalyst was even required for Destroy. The only element I can see that needs to be added for it is a guy with a pistol.

I agree.

Synthesis being the highest EMS option does not mean it's morally "best" or most "wise" option. It's the most difficult option to get, that's a fact, the rest is player interpretation, there's no hidden message from Bioware.

I would disagree. Synthesis would not require more power, but it would require much more delicate control of that power.
