[The Teyrn of Whatever]

This is a really slow period for news related to Dragon Age III. With nothing juicy coming out until BioWare does its official press release, let's post some pics and discuss our personal choices for <refer to the title of this thread>!

1. Post a pic (or as many pics as you want) and the person's name under the first pic.
2. Briefly describe the character you imagine would best suit your choice* (are they human, elf, dwarf? Warrior, mage, rogue? From which land in Thedas do they hail?) and/or why you chose this individual whose pic you posted? [Step 2 is entirely optional, but I think it encourages discourse].

Let's keep it pleasant and friendly, folks. I'm not starting this thread so that people can insult each other's choices, or worse, sling personal insults at one another.

I'll go first:


Rosamund Pike







I call her Eiskalt. I picture her as a city elf rogue from the Anderfels. She was born a commoner in an alienage, but has cultivated the elegance, poise, and grace of a noble woman after years spent in Antiva working as an assassin and sometimes as a bodyguard, frequently posing as a courtesan in the entourage of wealthy and well-born Antivans, some with very close ties to royalty. There is a coldness to her typical of the people of the Anderfels; she keeps her emotions well reigned in.

* The character you describe can be one of your own creation or an existing one you feel could benefit from a redesign or someone who is rumoured to be a companion in DA3.

As an LI, she would be totally yummy!

Would you want her to be a human or an elf? Which class would you see this character belonging to? I see a mage. The first pic really helped cement that for me.

Your choices are all good. However in the interest of not getting this thread locked down, could you please refrain from wording things in a way that could be offensive to some people or bring down the wrath of the mods?

I'd like to keep this thread going for as long as possible. I'm not going to insist, but I wouldn't be displeased if you edited your post and chose a phrase like "less campy" or "less flamboyant" or even "less foppish", please and thank you?

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that you weren't aiming to troll or offend with that comment. Many people in LGBT community are comfortable with calling themselves gay. Unfortunately it's still used as a pejorative and I for one would prefer to avoid using it here.

Alright, that's enough PC-thugging on my part for one day...

Besides, even as a straight male in real life, I've had no problem whatsoever pursuing M/M romances in DA games. I'd even say I had a lot of fun pairing up my male dwarf Warden, Beorn with Zevran, who is a great LI no matter what your character's gender might be!

It might self-indulgent, but I find it more fun than a lot of the nonsense that ends up here on the BSN. I prefer to do this than to go on and on about release dates, next-gen console speculation, and other junk that gets people all excited, even though we have almost no information to base our opinions on.

If you don't like it, go somewhere else. It's really as simple as that.

I apologize. My vocabulary is, unfortunately, pretty low and that was the only word that came into my mind. Actually, that isn't a word. Or, I don't know.

She 'd be human for sure and a mage ....maybe a blood mage . She does a darkness about her..

She's a New Zealand Maori, the Maori are Polynesian and therefore not white.





And here's this LI's story.

She's a young Chasind woman who was captured by slavers as a child and forced to live as an attraction in a Tevinter Magister's menagerie, for the amusement of guests that he entertained in his palace. She was taught to how to fight and the Magister would sometimes pit her in gladiatorial shows against elven slaves and wild animals. She escaped along with several other slaves who revolted against their master and murdered him. She has been on the run ever since, thieving to survive when necessary and sometimes working as a sellsword.

Now imagine Keisha here with some facial tattoos and some battle-scars visible on her face and body. Petite and wiry but tough and world-weary.

If you're having trouble picturing it, imagine her with an outfit/ look somewhat reminiscent of this:

Fair enough. I've never seen The Whale Rider, but I can relate. A similar thing happened to me recently when watching Nostalgia Chick review Matilda, starring Mara Wilson, that precious little scamp who played the youngest child in Mrs. Doubtfire. This is her as most of us will remember her:
