It is Origin, so you should keep your expectation to a minimum. If you have none, that's even better.

Looks like one of Origin's servers is offline. If you don't get onto the other server, you get no friends.

There's been other problems before where one server did not sync with other server, so I would get two different friends lists, depending on the server. Seriously, if EA doesn't take Origin seriously, why bother with it?

Try repairing your game from Origin... this worked for someone else who was having the same issue... until he experiences a disconnect, and then he has to repair the game again... Not a permanent solution, but something to try, anyway....

I think this has something to do with conflicting NAT types.

Apparently port forwarding helps.

So I just got on and noticed that my friends list isn't working even though I'm logged in fine. So I'm gathering from this thread that instead of just waiting to see if it fixes itself, I should restart the client repeatedly until I get a functional server or something?

I'm experiencing this problem in the last few days. What usually works for me is to click on the friends list of Origin, the program, not in the game, and then select to join the game of the friend who has invited me.

other than the port forwarding solution, just check if you and your friend both have the same versions (latest patch), happened with me with one of my friends.

back to the topic, played for some 5 hours altogether yesterday. friends list never loaded.

Origin sucks! it sucks...it sucks....it sucks...need i say more? Had to restart the damn thing five times to get my friend list to show up!!!
