We are in the same boat I think - I'm also female and been playing since I was about 20 years old.

My first computer didn't even have a hard drive - it was floppy disks only.  I played about every text based game there was (anyone remember Infocom?  Zork?  I still have them!) The first gui type game I played was Leisure Suit Larry - and I had to swap floppys every time Larry walked from one room to another...ah yeah...fun times....

Man it's cool how far games have come B)

Knock on door. Ken sent me.

The age check for that game was hilarious, my older sister and I used to thumb through our encyclopedias we had so we could play the game.

Tass when you have though idea in your head, put them down on paper, doesn't mater at the time if there not complete. Write them down. This is how most writers started out.

I do the same thing all the time, Writen many a story in my head. I did once write it down, made a complete story out of an idea that I had in my head. Gave it to my English teacher, way back when, and he showed me a few areas to work on to give it more depth in the story.

Like I said, it's the way most writers start out. Never did anything with it, but who knows, you might.

Tass, I still to this day have my first floppy disks and the games on them. Now I would love to see someone take the King Quest stories and bring them up to todays type of games. Sierra put out many a good game. The story line behind them was good, but was limited to what was available at the time.

Oh I do, my hard drive and various notebooks are filled with ideas. Some of them I flesh out, others... not so much. I tend to get side-tracked though, as I love to draw, and I'll often draw pictures instead of writing. I can never focus on just one thing, I am my mother's daughter.

On day you will sit down with one of those ideas you have, and make something out of it. It's how all good writers get started. Think of how many stories a wirter submits before the first one is printed.

As for drawing, use your drawings in your stories. Sometimes a drawing can say more then the writen word.

sorry for the off-topic, but : Ginasue ? is that really you ? nice to see you here... just seeing your name on the thread list pushed me back to that "CEP release queue line" out of time magical moment..

Back to topic : I agree with you, I'm a complete sucker for the dialogs and the banters especially, to me that's the best thing in the game. But I've got to admit I've been frustrated several times to hear some of them start just when I had clicked on an area exiting trigger :(

Do you think I could find somewhere an "how to" or a map of banter triggers to start them again and listen to those I missed ?

Tassiaw, when I'm in a writing mode I definitely have characters talking to each other in my head. Or when I'm planning my sit-down games. Sometimes I'll write things completely out of order because I have an exchange in my head that I have to write down.

Yes it is me.  Come a long way from doing CEP.   After 7 years of playing, hosting, and building in NWN it was time for a change for me.

I just wanted to add my thanks to the writing team. You did an amazing job! I loved the dialog of the companions and NPC’s. I laughed out loud so many times. You really brought out the personalities of these characters and I actually cared about them. Thanks for the great work.

One of the players who have posted in here, Rage infact has some uTube sence up. They give you an idea where some of the triggers are.

(would be nice if I could spell)

I stayed up all night the first night of Magfest (Music and Gaming Festival) because I had too many ideas and nowhere to put them down.

A quick question: we know which writer wrote which companion, but do we know which writer wrote each origin and each Treaty Quest? I'd be interested to know who wrote Broken Circle, Nature of the Beasts (my favorites), and who wrote the Mage Origin and the Human Noble Origin :)

You're in the CEP team? Thank you so much for making a great game even better! NWN CEP is the best thing that could happen to a game! Hope DA series can have a team like that!

I am not entirely sure.

I would guess that David Gaider was the writer for the Human Noble origin. He said QA testers called him a monster because of a particular line of dialogue in that origin. I think Cori May was the level designer for City Elf and Human Noble.

I would guess that Sherl Chee wrote Broken Circle. Because it was mentioned that she wrote Cullen and Wynne.

I think Mary Kirby wrote the Landsmeet section of the game.

if you like party banter, i can also highly recommend the youtube channel from Dragon Age Player. There are als lot's of vids with party talk and special in-game moments (i didn't check if there are more or less than in RageGT'S awesome collection, if it's just the same content, sorry for double posting)

Great game! For me I'd say that the companions make up 75% of that greatness. My only request is that you please do not cut corners regarding the companions in future DA development efforts. The game wouldn't be the same without them.

The dialgoues between NPC's is one of the things that really makes this an incredible RPG. It's interesting, funny and completely hilarious at times. Love it.

Ferret, I'm guessing you wrote the begger-elves in the alienage too? The first playthrough I stopped too early because I figured it wouldn't go anywhere and I didn't have much money to spare. The second playthrough I had much more money and decided to see how far it would go. LOVED it, although I think/wish it could have gone on 1 more scene, I was actually sad that Olie and co. simply left (and stopped making me laugh).

Rage, yes I was part of the team, but with DA being a single player game, not sure if we would even make things for it.

After 7 years I have left NWN behind me. All that I did on there also. Gave away my Mod to someone else, server vault and it was 128 (and a bunch of zezo) MB of characters. Right now, I'm just playing DA and relaxing.

It might be interesting if the PC could respond to random banter with one of several possible reactions like Frown at X, Laugh at Y, Laugh with Y, that sort of thing, and have your reactions affect approval rating or trigger cutscenes at camp later on.  Would be a way to integrate the banter a little more fully with the rest of the game.

I love the NPC conversations just as they are, though, they add so much to the experience.

I just watched a video on you tube, and not sure how but they have the conversations show up above the heads of the ones talking. I'm going to have to look into this, cause sometimes I have a hard time hearing those conversations. Age you know.
