Do I need to complete the game to play the expansion awakening?

Becose i don´t see the option when i select " new game "

You should be able to select it though the requirements on installation and starting depend on which format you are using.
The X360 version you install from the second disc, start a new game and use directional controls to pick the main game or expansion.
I understand the PC version has a different instruction "Other Campaigns" to start expansions.

However, the events in awakening occur after the end of origins so I recommend you complete origins first!

But, do check you have installed properly as some expansions are part of origins

Some people thave reported technical problems - if you have that then check around (maybe in Answers HQ) for advice

For the pc version, when you click on "new game", you should be able to select either Origins or Awakening. It should bring up a mini screen that will allow you to select one or the other.
