Fernando Melo: There will be both retail and download versions of it. It is by far the biggest expansion that we'll be releasing. I can't talk about the number of hours at this point, but in general, you can definitely expect a lot of gameplay. I don't think we know how to make games differently. Even without the replayability, I think it's safe to say that it's larger than pretty much any downloadable content out there. I think we need to treat it a lot more like a traditional retail expansion, which is really what it is -- it'll just have a downloadable version as well. But it'll be fairly massive. It'll be bigger than most retail games.
So I am guessing the it being 15 hours rumor isn't entirely correct.

I loved reading that section lol, I wonder what kind of effects. But one of the things that we wanted to do with Dragon Age as a franchise is that it's all based on choices and consequences. So there is a lot of reactivity to things that you've done in Origins if you choose to import that character. Of course, that will depend on the decisions you made and at what point you're importing them into Awakening. For instance, if you're coming from the end game save, then there's going to be a lot more reactivity, including [Spoilers Ahead!] right down to the very choices of how the Archdemon was defeated and who you put on the throne and all that kind of stuff -- hopefully that's not going to spoil it for you! If you choose to import from a much earlier point, then there may not be as much reactivity, but you'll hear about certain rumors.

if i didn't miss anything are you talking about where it says we'll meet the ogre that potentially killed Duncan? but i thought in the cutscene he was killed by the Alpha with an axe.

I've played 3 times and am at 21 in all 3 endings w/o doing any cheats or exploits but also finished almost all quests (a bannistor or love notes thing might remain) so I suspect a lot of people are in a similar place. If we can level someone that high up to a 35 that has to be a lot content/time to do that.

Here's the part that interested me, when the question of time comes up: "We can't because we're still balancing it. You will probably end up in the mid to high 30s -- that's kind of the current thinking, but that may still change. "

yeah, the original game is like 50 hours so if that gives you around 20 levels then 15 more levels would take about 35-40 hours right?

His beard protected him from the axe swing.
During most of the main game he is actually recovering in a cabin near the Frostback Mountains with a fangirl of his who is intent at keeping him with her no matter what.

reason I ask is because I noticed that some of the character dialogue at the end didn't match up exactly with choices I made in the Landsmeet.
The ending is buggy and unfinished in some parts. Hence why Alistair always says he's King even if he isn't, even though in the game files are dialogue where he doesn't say he is.
Anyway YAY finally a REAL nemesis. Loghain wasn't much of a Nemesis, I barely ever saw him. Ditto for the Archdemon.
Looks like according to the trailer, once again there are 2, however.
There's the "Ranger" Hurlock with the bow and arrows that chucks the guy off the ledge.
And there's the "Arcane Warrior" Hurlock who wears Black&Red Armor, has a big sword, can use some kind of magic, and has a VERY scarred face and showed owning the crap out of the protagonist.
Also: The Sorceress villain in the trailer with the words
"The spirits will watch in envy as the mortals of this realm bow down before me!"
Now why would they bow down before her, unless she was...
Andraste.

I got the feeling that Andraste wasn't into "worship me" so much as "worship the maker"

That sentence alone rules Leliana into a cameo. With regards to things like Leliana; again, there are some cameos
Sten/Alistair again are ruled out by this one.Originally when you meet some of the characters, because of their personalities, you may be predisposed to think: "this is an Alistair-character or this is a Sten-character."
The returning character is clearly Oghren as most people guessed already.

Anyway, It appears what Mr. Black/Red armor Hurlock [AKA the Architect] is doing is what he does in the novel, Dragon Age: The Calling.
SPOILER ALERT
Still around? OK.
In the Novel he uses magic to ACCELERATE the taint in certain Grey Wardens. In mere moments they basically become Darkspawn.
Looks like that's in store for the PC!

Not to mention it is looking more and more likely that we won't have our same wardens for the sequel. So I have a few characters I like, and that's it. Done until new content.

Your new warden *will* be implemented over should he be alive. The only time in which you would make a new warden would be if your warden died or you CHOSE not to continue the story with them.
For awakening, yes, I'm talking sequel (DA:2). I'm just miffed that the old companions are now gone (from actual group action) once the expansion is out.

Hopefully companions are available as NPCs even to non-Orlasians so you can still talk to them ^^;
