Cryo Ammo. Leave Squad Disruptor Ammo for Geth and mechs.

Disruptor only has a bonus to shields and synthetic health in ME2, not to barriers which is the preferred form of protection for Collectors. Disruptor does have the weapon overheat mechanic after it is leveled up, but that is fairly mild CC.

So do what Red says basically. But personally I don't find Cryo Ammo game changing except against melee creatures (Derelict Reaper showcases it the best), but it will be better than Disruptor ammo vs the Collectors.

Too bad you don't have Shredder Ammo, otherwise I would suggest that.

Really except for Inferno Ammo, you will want to go with the most CC for the ammo powers, since the damage boost becomes less and less significant as you get upgrades for your weapons.

Heavy warp ammo. Bring squadmates with their own ammo powers.

Disruptor ammo will be utterly useless.

Disruptor Ammo will overheat weapons starting at rank 3 if I recall, so it will provide some mild crowd control against unprotected Collectors. It will have no effect on Husks, abominations, Scions, Harbinger, or the Praetorian.
