Should not cause any issues, justb a latency and mhz/ram issue with the card. Some are designed to run faster etc...gaming cards (specific) usually come with their own fans/hreatsinkss etc etc.
providing your not going to playing for hours on end, it should be fine (temps wise etc)....would expect it to be perhaps a lil choppy under load though, have to lower the settings....
be interested to see what the game itself recommends as settings?

I'm running the game on two nVidia 7800 cards (SLI linked) and am having no problems whatsoever. You should be able to run it on an 8200 (although I'm using a PC tower stack and not a laptop so you might want to check that).

Balgin, the 8200m is no gaming card, especially in alappy...it will run, but not well.
Crimz...3gb on vista 32bit is not really enough to run the game. Again. like the card it will play...but slowly.
Vista itself can use upto a gb of ram just idly sitting there doing nothing, less your running apps etc etc.
get it installed, start it ip and then configure before actually hitting the play button, be interested to see what the game thinks the settings should be. Then, lower them all by 1

Study the Rankings Lists, and look at the "8" in what you have versus the "2" in what he has. His is merely low end crap when it's gaming, niot web surfing it is doing. Your pair is really old, but not crap YET. The first number has almost no meaning in determining performance!
There are special places just for laptop people to wail and gnash their teeth in, after they visi a site with benches to show how bad their junk is, as per the topmost link.
I don't ever include ANY onboard chips like that one in any performance list!

Woah sir, calm down. It's not like the world is ending, this is a simple topic that can be discussed in a civil manner. Your usage of "crap" is incorrect, especially since if it was "crap" my computer would not be able to graphically display anything, especially your "crap" post.

The very idea, however, of a two bit Crackerjacks tin whistle like that being compared to 7800s in SLI is flat out ridiculous, is what it is.

Wanna try some high rtesolution graphics on it in ANY modern 3D PC game? It will choke. It is SUPPOSED to choke. It's worth maybe $2.50 extra over rthe cost of the chipset sold without the dinky little tinker toy chip buried inside of the ASIC.

I take it you didn't even read the original post, did you? I mentioned how this is a TEMP computer, but for the now while this is my only one, I would like to at least TRY Dragon Age on it. To see if I'd like to continue playing it on PC, and whether or not I'm going to put more money into my future computer so that it's very nicely compatible.
I could care a less about whether or not you think it's crackerjack toy material. Now see if you posted your information in a rude manner, then I would thank you for your contribution, but as it's not that way, please just stop. I read your other topics and you think of people without extensive computer knowledge as morons or imbeciles. I could think the same of you for lacking the common sense of tact. Thank you and have a great day.

Unfortunately (for you), Gorath actually knows his stuff very well. If he comes across abit irritable, well... he and I (and some others) have been here since day 1 and after around 100 of these posts it gets to feeling like a broken record. Now for a (hopefully) less irritated reply:
The n200 designation means that it's designed strictly for business applications. This means it will browse the web fine (for the most part) but is utterly a waste of the power it uses when trying to game. While in an ideal world, we would not be subjected to companies trying to sell us inferior products for more money and 8200 would actually be more than 7800. Unfortunately, this isn't that world. Regardless of the initial version code (eg. 8x00), anything with less than an n600 code is going to struggle running this game.
Can you run it with a less than optimal experience? Sure, if you're happy with framerates that may reach the single digit count.

Now see you gave very useful feedback in a non-rude way. I understand that this isn't a gaming platform, but I just figured I'd test the waters. With your information I feel much more intelligent with Graphics card specs. As for the world we live in, yeah it's a pile of poo, but take what ya have and make the best of it. Which is what I'm trying to do momentarily with this pc, lol. My other Pc was confickered, so it had to go bye byes.

Your 8200 may not actually run the game. I would like to think it would however, if it does you will have extremely slow frame-rate even on absolute minimum settings and it will really be down to how well you can tolerate that.
Best way to find out is to simply install it and try it and see

My brothers spare pc has a 7600 card 2gb ram on XP. And i find the speed with which it runs Dragon Age to be unplayable on minimum.

Well I've installed the character creator and while I know that's NOT nearly as powerful as the full game itself. It is but a bit of the taste on how it would run, and I have to say at least the character creator worked fine. Well this settles it, I'll not test the waters too much and I'll simply wait until I get another PC to test the game.
Thank you all for your informative posts, even including you Granpa Rudepants( You know who you are!)
Have a wonderful new year and have a great time Gaming.

he is not the only person here that knows anything about PC's, though his attitude makes you think that.
I have read many of his posts, and yes a very educated fellow, but please, lose the attitude, it helps no one, if you want to help somone. help and be nice, the attitude makes you look like a **** regardless of your knowledge
