A while ago I had to replace my C: hard disk. I always had ME installed on my E: storage disk so I have most data (I also copied the my documents folder from the C disk before I replaced it).

The core game works just fine when I launch the launcher from the program files directory on E:. The problem is that the game isn't installed officially, and therefore I can't play Bring Down The Sky, and I'm not sure the patch is working since when I try to install either my system says that Mass Effect can't be found. When I use the auto-run of my CD it prompts a install option, not a play option.

Is there a way to get everything to work without reinstalling?
I ask this because I've heard of this nasty DRM only allowing the CD key to be used a couple of times. I've already used it three times I think and I would rather not buy another copy. Also the installation of BDTS was a huge pain in the ass and I don't want to go through that again.

Can anyone help me?

Edit: I already tried AnswerHQ but it's christmas and they're not answering. I'm just spreading my chances of finding a solution to my problem. I'm sorry.

You are asking at least two tech-type questions in here, where those subjects are off topic. The Social Forums were recently demoted, such that the prior gamer to gamer self-help tech forums have all been locked. Official technical support has always been on the EA Help Site, and now the self-help forums are all on Answers.HQ.Com

Or you could just take the guy's advice instead. EA really do supply tech support and the self help tech forums here really have been closed and the regulars advised to go hang out in AnswersHQ instead. Presumably they did because I can't recall seeing them post since. Bottom line is you can ask whatever wherever you like but if it's somewhere other than where the people who'd know about these things are then it's kind of like asking your vet about a funny rattling noise your car is making. He might happen to know but if you get a useful answer it'll be more by pure luck than if you go to the local workshop and ask there.
