No, not just the J.J. Abrhams lens flar bloom effect look. I first noticed some things with the Total Recall remake with the cars and robots reminding me of Mass Effect 2. Then I watched the trailer to Oblivion starring everybody's favorite crazy scientology actor Tom Cruise. His weapon just reeks of the Mass Effect look to me.
As much as I would think it be neat for a ME movie and hate it at the same time, what do you guys think?
Movies are taking a Mass Effect look.

Even funnier in that trailer is the fact that Tom Cruise's character is named Jack Harper.

Ever notice he wears a Yankees hat in every movie? Also in Rock of Age ships name was Stacey Jaxx, an in Legend his name was Jack.

Haha my thougt exactly. Feels verry "videogamey" Earth people looking like something out of Fallout, Movie Title is "oblivion". Main characters name is the same as illusive man. Weapon design and Bots looking like Portal bots. Actually might be a good movie when you think about it!

Its just sleek is sexy now. So sleek weapons and bots and other stuff looks like "proper" scifi.

Am I the only one who watched that trailer and wanted Morgan Freeman as a squadmate in Mass Effect 4? Granted, the odds are like less than 1% but it would be totally bad ass.

When I saw the movie title, Oblivion, I thought it had to do with The Elder Scrolls. XD I was wrong and disappointed.

I want Morgan Freeman as a squaddie in every game.
Hell, I want Morgan Freeman as a squaddie in real life!

I concur on the Total Recall thing. I saw it too. But honestly it's not that they are using Mass Effect as their reference for their looks. It's just that we're so into Mass Effect we see it everywhere.
I call it the red car effect. If you know someone who has a red car, you start to see red cars everywhere. I'm sure there is a stronger psychological wording for the phenomenon, but yes.

I think they should have had morgan freeman as the only voice actor in the Mass effect series. Yes, even people like Tali, Miranda, Jack, Liara, EDI, and Diana Allers.
Maybe with the occasional Christopher Walken.
