Hi gang
can someone explain what hardening an npc like alistair is, and how
1- we can do it
2- what effect it haas, like on alistair

Completing their personal Q a certain way hardens them I think.
For Alistair you need to take him to see his sister and after he finds she's a total <censored> tell me that's the way the world is or something similar.
Hardened Alistair is more willing to be king and becomes a better king than unhardened.

Alistair needs his perosnal quest to see his sister.
it doesnt go well (not explaining if you havnt done it)....then reply with "everyone is out for themselves"...next time at camp he will initiate a cut scene saying he bee thinking about what you said....take the obvious dialogue choice.
It has no effect on him personally, or in game, UNLESS you want to make him king. He will not agree to be king if he is not hard...i mean hardened (oops lol)...

Leiliana becomes less "good" than she tries to be previously at the end of her personal quest should you chose to tell her to "accept what she is" or "that is what you are". I can't recall offhand which one comes first or the wording, but it's in that spirit.
This also opens her up to the idea of a threesome/ foursome with you and zevran (and isabella) should you ask her. Alistair I think also doesn't flee if you harden him through his quest.
