I've had glorious, heroic deaths. I've had embarrassing, ragegel-inducing deaths. I've had normal, run-of-the-mill deaths.

And then I had the strangest 10 seconds of my life.

Playing a Gold PUG this morning, we got Cerberus/London. Wave 10 pizza delivery. One pizza is delivered. We're heading for the second one. My Turian Ghost was upstairs and every stairway had instant death waiting... like, three Phantom brigades. So, I cloak and try to sneak past the Atlas that is blocking the stairwell closest to where you first spawn on London.

He sees straight through the cloak and grabs me for an insta-kill. First time I've actually ever been insta-killed by an Atlas, as I don't make it a habit to hang out near them. He slams me to the ground, I die, I sink through the map, view London from underneath the street, then miraculously arise back to life at the start point of London... straight into the insta-kill of a Phantom standing in that exact spot.

So, I died via sync-kill. Sank into the underside of the map. Revived at the start point of London. Straight into the sync-kill of a Phantom.

Was this trip really necessary?

The other day I somehow died and got pushed inside the large box in the hallway (the one opposite the stairs) on Glacier and ended up back transported to the LZ, alive.

Goddess: During a hack by the elevator on the right of the center room and on the left of the LZ, we were getting overrun. I died and when my body fell, it fell down the elevator shaft. xD I respawned at the LZ.

Another time, I was being sync-killed as a Volus by a Brute on White-Hazard. I was at the LZ when the Brute picked me up, slamming me to the ground. However, my friends started laughing and I was like "What?". Turns out, the Brute slammed my Volus so hard that he was under the map. After a bit of wandering, I fell and respawned.

Off host, have a punching match with the last Cannibal on the map for the wave (3), in the break between waves, I got taken down by a Cannibal...about 6-8 secs between it getting a sword through the face, and my fainting.

Lag wasn't that bad, noticeable and definitely there, but not bad. Not enough to warrant that, I was the last player to join in wave 2. No one left at any point either.

Hack zone on Goddess in the balcony overlooking the planters and desk area below. I was taking cover against the wall that overlooked the LZ. A phantom sync-killed me through the wall. Literally pulled me through the wall and my body was dead on the other side.

Happens when you are killed post-humously by something already dead, such as a Banshee warp ball hitting you right before she dies (and then you die from the DOT) or standing in Ravager acid goo.

I'm sprinting while playing the Ghost. Suddenly sprint turns into his stupid jetpack dodge and I'm forced to dodge into a Praetorian sync kill.

Also as a Ghost I dodge backwards and at the end of the dodge I get sync killed by the thing I was dodging away from.

Did I mention I don't like the Armiger Legion Turians?

got instakilled 10 feet away from a banshee....i mean, even though she was punching air, the game showed the whole arm through chest animation....when she finished, i died, and my body was drug back across the ground to where she was

My strangest death is also my funniest. Fire base Rio, Collectors Gold. Standing close to a railing, my idiot teammate lashed a possessed abomination into my face. The explosion somehow rag dolled me over the railing and off the map, causing me to respawn... Right in front of a Praetorian. The whole process, from lashed abomination to getting grabbed by the praetorian, took about five seconds.

This was not my death but one of my teammate's. We were playing against Cerberus on Reactor (silver, I believe). At the end of wave 8 or so, a salarian infiltrator from the team got sync killed by a Phantom and fell through the ground a bit. After a moment the wave ended and that revived him, but he was stuck in this one small spot behind a ledge, to the left of a ladder (by the right side exit from the reactor, when looking from the LZ). It was bloody hilarious. Poor fellow could not get out of there, not even when he died and I revived him. He had some space to move, could make a step or so and was obviously trying to jump over the ledge as he was running against it, but to no avail. I stuck around there with him and we managed to kill stuff (I was cracking up the whole time) and actually finished wave 10but then he logged off .

Firebase jade, Gold, Cerberus. I was behind soft cover shooting an atlas, and it does its AOE melee ground pound. I retreat into hard cover, I cannot even see said atlas, and next thing I know Im being picked up in the air, through a wall, and squeezed to death. Twas fun.

My normally tubby body wound up half underneath the walkway; the other half stretched and spazzed into the sky like one of those balloon men you see in lots where they sell RVs/trailers for cheap. Add the fact that my volus was bright pink with peppered with blue chicken-pox lesions, I looked like an epileptic Blasto for the rest of the wave.

Mine happened on the first gold match I've ever played and successfully extracted from. N7 Destroyer, Reapers, London, wave 3 hack, We're getting swarmed at the hack point so I decide to rocket the brutes and banshees that are so nicely standing together. So I blow them to kingdom come only to have a banshee sneak up behind me and sync kill me; but somehow I survive and run away only to run right into a brute who grabs me and kills me.
