Anyone else find Collectors.... Not that hard?

the reason the collector are so hard is because they are blitzers, and that can make them harder than a mob of stunlocking geth. I once had to use 3 missiles on a wave ten silver because we were doing a escort mission and the Praetorians kept on spawning and blocking our path. No other faction can get in frount of you like that.

Hm. I had a match with the infidrell today. Was nice n' easy. Collectors are great fun to fight even on gold. They simply have this...."special" element with the possessions.

The only good thing about collectors is that they are not the geth, and for this I am thankful. Prefer playing (reapers/Cerberus), collectors, then geth.

Let me put it like this. I can carry terrible scrubs for any faction on plat except collectors (unless I'm an inf)

they were never 'that hard'...the uproar about them was just cause the majority of the bsn is just a bunch of (insert whatever derogatory word you like) when it comes to gaming....anyway, i find them harder now than when they first came out because they tend to freeze my ps3 now, which sucks cause i enjoy playing against them

They're not really hard they're just cheap. Hordes of abominations, the spamming of seeker plagues, scions spamming grenades and praetorians blocking powers, wall hacking, infinite melee stagger lock and magnet grabs to name a few. The only things I think are overpowered are the scions cannon, praetorians lasers and collector captains.

Everytime I solo I seem to do best against collectors for some reason, I don't know why.

When I used optimized setups, Collectors are not that hard.

But they're still harder (more consumables, more time, more likelihood of a wipe) than any of the other three would be with that setup on the same difficulty, and this is almost never differential by kit. I enjoy a challenge, but I also enjoy being rewarded appropriately for my time and effort, since I don't have a maxed manifest on either platform I play on. So I prefer playing against other factions.

If I had a maxed manifest and tons of extra consumables lying around like so many players here, I might not mind the added challenge and frustration for no greater reward, but as it is that's not the case.

collectors can definetly be a pain in the arse, but for my Asari Vanguard, headshots galore makes them not as bad

- I like a faction that's strong against certain types of enemies. They make combo casters less effective, but it doesn't hurt casters that don't need to combo at all.
- First part is true, second part isnt. The beams is just like a PPR, its not a knife it counts as several projecticles you can get hit more than once by it, I've been shield, then health gated by the same beam.
-They do spend a bit too much time flying, but it isnt a problem. Four people on a team if everyone played a caster then yeah you are screwed, but what you are saying here is kinda like complaining about losing to the fire pokemon gym leader when you have a team of grass and bug types. If you go into collectors you know what they do so prepare accordingly, and unknown enemy is a gamble so meh.
-They are, but thats intended. Honestly Idk why the other factions can't shut players down as well.


  • Cerberus engineers should be able able to sabotage and force players to reload and their guns and vent.
  • Geth should have emps
  • reapers should have beacons that screw with your controls to emulate indoctrination.

Dont mind them at all. Just move the seeker swarms over to the geth faction and all the **** is in the one place!!

Geth might as well have seeker swarms.

Cant use my powers after a prime shoots me.
Cant use powers after a hunter shoots me.
screw it, if anything touches you you can't do anything.

They should just remake the geth. When you load the map the controller should get super hot and force you to put it down.

My only gripe is that Seeker Swarms do damage as well as locking out your powers. Seems a bit excessive given their high hit points and odd hit-box.

Otherwise, I rather enjoy their challenge personally. Also, their big heads mean headshot medals all around.

I actually find them fun. Once you realise to prioritise Swarms and shoot the lump on the Sion they become so much easier.

The fact that they get grenades to throw is just BS, but with a good gun and some ammo, they're easy credits. One simply needs to use hard cover against the giant puppies that shoot lasers from their eyes.

look if you're gonna play gold or higher, bring a powerful weapon with armor piercing amp or ammo. this doesn't mean a heavy weapon, just powerful. on any caster, the new weapon mods have made this entirely possible, without sacrificing cooldown significantly. example: talon, piranha, wraith... will all keep your cooldowns low and can put out major damage.

this is how the game has changed. powerful weapons on powerful, fast, mobile characters is what the balance has moved towards. forget how much shields you have, it hardly matters. shields are completely overemphasized by most players. So is "sticking together" and/or "holding down a position." the devs have obviously made the A.I. punish this type of play, on any enemy.

play aggressively but play smart. you may go down quite a bit at first but once u "get it" it won't matter which faction you face.

My only real problem with collectors is the biotic explosion thing. Were that fixed, I'd be happy to face them just as any of the other three races - but I favour biotic classes, so it does make me feel very leaden whenever they come up. Regardless of class, actually, because if it's not me it'll be a teammate, so I think that probably colours my psychology. Plus, I've had some terrible experiences with them. Wiping a device objective on wave three silver was particularly soul-destroying. Abominations kept picking up the hacker. I used all my medi-gel, all my missiles, trying to cling to a device for ten poxy seconds - but we completely failed. Absolutely livid.

Broadly, though? I'll be happy when they fix the bugs. ("Fix the Bugs" - catchy slogan!)

Easiest to hardest factions 1 being easiest and 4 being hardest (for me):
1) Reaper
2) Collector
3) Cerberus
4) Geth

Once they fix the bug where Collectors take less damage, they'll be fine. Until then, they are harder simply based on that fact alone. Then the Geth stunlock cheapest wins.

with shooting kits: easy (I lol when im a destroyer)

They turn my SuicideFury into a hell of a gamble. Its Hilarious to see if the Captain will get his Swarms out or not. Its 50:50 every time :D
