Oh yeah, I just thought of something. Between now and the last time I played Dead Money, I've adjusted Project Nevada's settings to turn the dismemberment rate down by about 60%, I wonder if that will make it harder for me to fight ghost people?

Agreed. Most games actually have pretty awful DLC, but all the four major DLCs for New Vegas add some real value to the game. One thing I really enjoy about them is that they all bring new levels, new perks and new and immensely useful items to the game. Although the fun of playing it should be enough in itself, it's nice particularly in an RPG to get some progression out of it (something I think was forgotten with the Borderlands 2 DLC for example, where they are so stingy with upgrades and rewards that I actually got a bit angry with it).

Pretty much, and you will have numerous choices, not just those two.

Well, there are some Legion rules that make it impossible for me to support them. For example how they treat one of the genders.
I think I'd prefer to support New Vegas, but sadly the storyline on this path forces you to eliminate certain organizations... which I happen to like and support, so...

I don't recall being forced to eliminate any organizations when my Courier sought to create an independent Vegas. You have options in how you respond to your 'neighbors'. My Courier voluntarily destroyed one, but that was because they were a danger to the Mojave and two of his friends. Two if you count taking Boone to the Fort.

Oh and be sure to repair ED-E, which can be used as a second pack mule.

Yeah, ED-E is awesome!

Yes he is. B)

I meant Mr. House's New Vegas. Independent is... something else indeed.

I liked the outcome for an independent Vegas. To each his own.

As did I. To date, it's the only outcome I've seen. I admit, I was pretty much swayed by Dave Foley's voice acting.

...and I love the name, by the way. Say hi to Xuchilbara for me.

Pretty much the same for me. Depending on what character I'm using I target the DLCs to get the best gear suited to my approach. The overall story in the DLCs, is great as well and I love how it ties back into the vanilla game.

Also I may need to take some blood pressure medication. Youhad to mention the Borderlands 2 DLC.

That's because I found the Borderlands 2 DLC very disappointing. All the old DLC had rewards of some kind. Even the zombie DLC had extra backpack space. The Borderlands 2 DLC is just... more fighting. They're not bad, I just don't get why they are withholding the rewards this time. You were showered with loot and rewards in Borderlands 1, and that's part of what made it great. Now they seem to want to make en MMO instead with stupid token systems and endless boss grinding. Even the many chests in the pirate DLC didn't give me anything good after two runs. It's the one thing that's NOT great about Borderlands 2, sucked the fun right out of the endgame for me.

Now *I* am getting all wound up. Anyway, I have medication right here. Which kind do you want? I have amlodipine, losartan and metoprolol. On second thought, it might be illegal to sell it :)

Oh I agree. Scarlett's Pirate Booty may actually be one of the worst DLC's I've ever bought. Torgue's Campaign was much better but the LOOOTSPLOSION at the end consisted of one purple, some blues, some greens and a whole lot of whites. WTF. Add in ****** poor drop rates and tedious bosses and I've lost all interest in playing. It justs seems like there's plenty of shoot just no loot.

Anyway, [Barter 100] I'll pay you 40% for all of it. With the Legion and NCR cracking down you'll have little luck selling. Add in the Khans my, eh, new business partners and there's an even smaller market. And it seems the Fiends are suffering from a bad case of dead. I hope that's alright by you?

Somehow I think psycho, turbo and hydra are slightly more interesting drugs :)

I loooove turbo, by the way.. Ever tried combining the perk that gives you free turbo with all the perks that increase duration? Nothing can stop you.

So I'm replaying it now. Well, truth be told, I never *actually* finished it. For some reason I am less likely to try to finish games I like.

Best game ever though.

I don't think you're the only one who feels that way about Dead Money.

Personally, I love it. All of the things you mention also make it more challenging and exciting. A lot of the emitters you mention just require a bit of patience and running back and forth until you find what you're looking for. But yes, a few of them are a bit frustrating. Luckily Christine can buy you some time.

Why I love it:

- dense atmosphere, as you say
- actually DEADLY traps, not your average Skyrim trap that feels like a gentle breeze by comparison
- the characters, particularly Christine
- another casino to empty!
- the holorifle, by far one of the most epic weapons in the game and, well, ever
- neat crafting station after you finish where you can make chips and turn them in to get repair kits and such
- I always feel exhausted when exiting Dead Money, but in a good way; it's like a rite of passage for my character -- if you have survived Dead Money, you're just that much more of a badass

Well, two down, two more to go. Old World
Blues was an absolute blast, but Dead Money was such a let down. Time
to dive in to Honest Hearts!

HH is like a mini-vacation for your character. Well, except for the buffed cazadores that is. Enjoy :)

Oh, and by the way, every cave with a workbench has a chance of spawning skill books. I have found as many as 3 in some of them. The contents are decided when you enter a cave though, so if you want to make sure you get books, you have to save BEFORE you enter.

I just finished Dead Money recently. Do have some mixed feelings about it. The atmosphere is good. And I like the ending. Also, taking all the gold bars lol.

I loved the side-quest where you help the religious ghouls launch their ship. And the human scientist who wants to be and talks like a ghoul...even calling me a smoothskin. Lololol. Hilarious! Friggin great, well-written quest.

I would be ok with duel-wielding, as long as there would be a solid accuracy penalty.

Just doesn't feel like "that kind of game" to me where you can dual-wield. That's just my silly opinion though.

I haven't officially finished my canon game.  I don't like epilogues.

How did you manage to do this?
I couldn't take even 1 due to its weight. Well, with empty inventory I could take a few... souvenirs I suppose... but my inventory is never empty!

There's an exploit you can use. There are a bunch of YouTube videos that show how to do it.

lol I had my room in Mr.House tower filled with weapons and armors. what a mess!
I also had brought some gold bars from Sierra Madre and some weapons. When I got out of there I received my own stuff again and there was no one to carry my burdens ... so I unloaded many things there too!

First, I took all the gold bars before talking to Elijah for the final time via the terminal. Then I headed straight toward the door as fast I could. Behind the two generators on each side there's a kind of narrow 'ledge' you can walk on. So I snuck on the one behind the generator to the right.

I waited in sneak mode while Elijah went to the terminal near the vault door and made for the exit. He won't activate the force fields until he detects you (or has to wait too much, I think). So you can just use the exit he came from if you time it right.

It doesn't *feel* like cheating to me.

So you went overburdened? Interesting. I could never reach the exit overburdened before my collar exploded.

I though it's necessary to activate the force fields to trap Elijah. But if they are not activated if he doesn't notice you and the countdown to doom begins much later, I suppose that could work.

Still would be a pain to go all this way overburdened... and don't you need to make some jumps underway?

That's when the Big MT Transportalponder! comes in handy :) But need to beat OWB for that... And it's kind of shame that you can't bring companions and their... burdens to The Sink.
...wish I had 6 Endurance for the Long Haul perk... that must be one of the most awesome perks in FNV!

There are two exits. One option is to go back the way you came from, but you can also get to the door Elijah comes through. It's closer, but harder to reach.

I'm 22 hours in now. Having a blast. I haven't even been to the New Vegas strip yet, although I'm going to be there soon. Exploring and unlocking points of interest and sidequesting. Me and Raul are kicking ass...I gave him a powerful punching device and its crushing. I'm also doing my fair share of immense damage.

I found a nest of Cazadors....I don't know if I should stir up the hive yet or not.

I wish now I would have done hardcore mode, or at least hard. Fallout 4 will be a day one buy, and I will play that on hard I guess. The writing is pretty good..lots of subtle humor and good writing in general...in notes, too. I have lockpicking at 90 and Guns at 72. Energy weapons at 68 as well.

Haven't seen any proper mirelurks yet...only lakelurks...and they are mid-level it seems. Ran into some 7 levels ago and they stomped me. Stunned I haven't seen more deathclaws yet. Only two sofar. Wish they had them sprinkled out more in general, along with other high-level creatures.

One suggestion for future Fallout games I have given on Bethesda forums was to create realistic light/dark tech and be able to equip all weapons with flashlights that run off of consumable batteries.

I want to visit high-level and immensely lethal creature dens in the future in the pitch dark. Hope they revamp all creatures along with new ones and give some very deadly and unique critical attacks. Imagine visiting a burrough of highly deadly Centaurs in the pitch black with only a flashlight to see with...realistic lighting for immersion.
