I don't really see teams like Ashen and Cold having any advantage then. Seems like this is more about extending the game and getting as many medals as possible rather than competing against each other.
I was all prepared to suggest if the combined scores of the two teams are within a certain amount of points from one another, (that amount would need to be agreed upon) then the team with the fastest time wins the round....
But I think that might give PC an unfair advantage.

Did they bring try hard classes did they bring rocket gear all those things you can't know. The indirectness is part of the challenge, not to mention teams won't need to wry about the intimadation factor, we have a lot of big time BSNers here.
And the final will be a direct battle and that's where it counts.

I know not fighting directly in the same lobby seems like not a challenge. But its the guessing game of what strategy the other team is using.

Sounds like an NBA game where instead of playing each other the teams see who can make the most free throws and they get as many tries as they want.
I won't make any more stupid comments about it. I was just excited to join until I saw the format. Best of luck to everyone involved

Doesn't feel like much of a competition with the current format but whatever.

Hard to determine a real winner since technically both teams will be assisting each other.

Well I know I'm not l33t enough to participate. But I was just thinking I'd really love to watch some of these games live...
Which gave me an idea for your cheating/photoshopping/objectives dilemmas: Why not appoint some refs that join the duos ingame? Their role is to merely observe, record/screencap as needed. As such they down themselves each round except for objectives. They can also do the objectives, leaving the contestants to kill all the things. During objectives, "refs" may kill to defend themselves but not influence the match otherwise. At the end, the ref score is subtracted from the squad score.
Obviously refs doing objectives would need to handle being on their own and actually completing objectives on their own. If they get downed, they need to gel, contestants should not interact with them in any way.
Just an idea.

It will be impossible to please everyone and I have taken a lot of advice so far. But I don't think a much better system can be achieved that all platforms can play.

Just get volunteers for refs like you did for players.

I thought about the ref idea as well but not everyone has recording gear including myself.
Even if it's terrible quality it is still something to go on and I'm sure everyone has a camera of some quality.

That's how I expected to get most screenshots anyway. when I upload the pic for Team Nephilim it will be from my phone. it doesn't need to be a high tech screenshot.Uh Cold wrote...

Just something that shows both your scores and that you did the set-up that you were supposed too.

Then the teams would be at the mercy of when the refs could play. it would slow things down greatly and the ppl joining are increasing.CrutchCricket wrote...

Is it that much harder to get three people together than two? With enough volunteers the strain would be negligible. It's not like every team is RL buddies.cory257383 wrote...

No, you are underestimating the difficulty of organizing matches with that particular level of sophistication. With two-man teams, everything can be kept very casual and stress-free, with the teams only needing to post their top scores within the twenty-four hour period given. The finals alone will need some leeway to arrange for timing, since no one wants those to end on a default.

The ref downs himself at the start of every wave. You'd be hugging a LOT of banshees, phantoms etc...josehinojos wrote...
Plus with the ref still alive in the game, I can see some players using them as bait, especially for objective waves.
As for objective waves the point of the ref getting them is to allow the contestants to kill all the things. The exception of course is "kill the four things". Once objectives are down, ref hugs a banshee again.
You're not really saying where the difficulty is. All these matches are probably arranged through friends-lists yes?Miaoven Winter wrote...

Add the refs to friends then. And since you are invoking specific timeframes I'm not really seeing where the extra stress and organization comes from.

I get what you are saying, but what about the single hack? Lets say London hack in the middle of the map. All the players have to do is go to one side of the map and wait for the enemy is show up. Putting the objective between them and the enemy and funneling them into a "killzone". Armored Compartments would come in handy there. Of course that's just me being hypothetical.
