Because you need to play on all 4 platforms to know whos best, totally 100% accurate.

Generally people known for pushing the game to it's limits in terms of data mining and gameplay will be better than the unknowns.

They are also less likely to cheat than the unknowns and know more about the detailed things that cheaters would overlook in making fake scoreboard screenshots for the event.

Basically what you're saying is if a person is popular then they will generally be better then unknowns.  You go so far as to say they are even less likely to cheat.  I can't speak for every unknown, but most of us are unknown cause we could care less about waving epeen around.  This in no way makes an unknown any less trustworthy nor less skilled.

Also, you wrote "...know about the detailed things that cheaters would overlook".  WTF?!  Forgive my ignorance for not knowing that duplicate medals can be displayed in a legitimate game as long as they are gained in a specific order.  I'm sure this was common knowledge to everyone in your elite circle.  But even the team who posted the highest numbers couldn't explain how it happened.  It took someone else to explain how to duplicate it.  So because we overlooked this that makes us cheaters? /boggle
