All teams should fight the same faction. (one thing I noticed during the million point challenge is how imbalanced Collectors are for XP compared to the other 3 factions) Double elimination is also a good idea for this since you're pretty much relying on the RNG to not give crappy objectives. We would have to decide which maps to run, so nobody is given an unfair advantage over the other on that front... For example, round 1: All participants fight Reapers on Jade, round 2: Cerberus, Ghost ect...

I don't really think there is a way to balance out something like this. It'll still be fun though

So the lobby would be
ashen earth, uh could, me, chaineghis. fighting u/u/g or probably platinum it doesnt matter.

That would be unbalanced, regardless of team composition.

I can tell you right now, whoever pulled Reapers in a competition for points would win assuming all players were of the same skill level...

^ yes but you would be with your partner and opponents both fighting the reapers. You will be in the same game, at least thats how Im trying to set this up

I'd be surprised if a game where you had 2 teams of two people competing for points even made it past wave 3.

My point is that whoever decided to run objectives would be putting his teammate at a disadvantage.

If you have 2 teams of 2 in the same game and 1 guy runs objectives, then it's basically 2 vs 1. That is, unless everyone decided to ignore objectives to inflate their scores, and the game never makes it past wave 3.

If you have 2 teams of 4 in different games with 1 guy running objectives then it's about even unless you get BS objectives... which is why I mentioned double elimination.

 I'd like to propose that the matches are just a collection of duos, and that the idea of having 2 teams in a lobby competing against each other is scrapped.

Reason behind this is for consistency, as when players on different platforms are competing against each other (unless you were planning on giving away 4000 MSP or equivalent for each platform) it'll be a different experience altogether than a bunch of duos.  So, having everyone do duos makes the most sense.

Standardizing the map, enemy, and difficulty would also make sense.  My vote goes to Gold/Cerberus/White(with Retaliation installed, so that the layout is standardized).  If you'd rather that it takes place on harder settings, maybe Platinum/Collectors/Giant.

This too.  Double Elimination would be a positive change.

I cant do teams of 4 though as I wouldnt be able to split the winnings and im not rich lol. Outside of an honor system of just doing it as quick as possible im not sure what to do.

Maybe even a best 2/3 could solve this problem.

I wouldnt be against simple duo's and putting the enemy and map also in the hat. but then I cant go to completion beacues most teams will not be able to duo a gold or platinum game

The other problem with duo's is the second poster has the upper hand. As they wont post their score until they beat the person who posted first.

Having everyone in the same lobby solves this problem. I did some research thats the main reason redjohns arena thing didnt go so well, to easy to lie.
