I agree with this, the game now has an overwhelming amount of items. Even then most kits aren't able to be used to its fullest if you lack even a few things such as the piercing mod, extended barrels and things like that which have become difficult to unlock because of the sheer number of thing now. Raising the credits will certainly help keep the game interesting for a lot of newer players and help them get a respectable manifest in the game.

Totally agree.

This would also help to keep people from joining Gold and Platinum's to get carried because there isn't enough incentive to spend 15-25 minutes getting 15-30,000 credits.

I think gold should be 90+ too like 96 with full extraction and good time bonuses.

Sure, all the people who ground out hundreds of hours will be pissed, but it's for the good of the game in the long run. My guess is that multiplayer in this game won't remain popular for all that much longer (another 9-12 months maybe depending on future DLCs?), so anything that can be done to encourage newer players is a good thing IMO. Otherwise, like the OP said new players will be turned off after seeing just how many hours they have to play (and how lucky they have to get with RNG) to get a gold+ quality manifest.

I have a maxed manifest with far more hours played than I care to admit. Doesn't ****** me off at all if other players get unlocks quicker to make things go smooth during a match rather than me carrying.

To be honest I don't care all that much about the unlocks or maxing out the manifest anymore(if much at all previously).

I'm just having fun on silver.

I find it sad if it's those things that keep people playing and not the gameplay itself.

I play the game still because I enjoy it (I don't have unlocks left to get). That said, there is only one game mode so having new weapons and characters to play with keeps the game fresh.

I'm more in favor of adjusting the tier system of the kits and weapons. Currently, the game has way too much rares (especially on the characters category). Moving some of them to uncommon will ease the burden of maxing them out. Additionally, a 5k increase in bronze and silver credits is probably reasonable enough in my opinion.

Why not? I would think it would cut down on the number of terrible players on gold, they are only their in the hope someone will carry them to the credits. Wouldnt fix the avenger I carriers on gold but it would cut the herd down a bit

how about decrease it? kidding aside how about no... why should people get special treatment because they are late to the party, let them work for it like everyone else did and if you think the game is harder now your crazy it maybe more complex but if anything its easier.

Easier when you already have stuff unlocked. Try having no knowledge of spawns, enemies, etc. with no gear, no weapon mods, and an Avenger I.

thats not my point, bioware has serisouly nerf enemy powers and abiltiy if you compare starting the game now to starting at realese, your only agrument is the collectors being to agressive and more complex. and btw gear didnt even exist back then nore did the super powerful mods you have now, infact most weapons at gold rarity were alot ****ty thren the ones you have now. things like pirana whould have been a levwel 10 UR

Edit: On your point of them need more insentive to stay on thsoe levels thopugh I definetly think there are quite a few gold weapons that could become silver weapons without balance changes allowing them to have better arsenal, as a comprise, this helps solves their problem of filling out their items faster, without giving them a credit advange over vetrans, who have goen through hell for URS, it Also keep vetrans from switching to farming the silver as lone wolf.

I agree completely, I stopped playing for like 6 months cause I was bored with it and was infuriated with the store and the geth, I've been wanting to come back but all the unlocks and the fact that I don't have enough time to get nearly enough credits to guaruntee that I'll get something, I tend to spend my time playing other games, if the reward was increased like you say, I would love to give the multi another go, but as it is, I'm not touching it.

I hate this attitude. "I'm amazing and worked hard to get unlocks and everyone should have to be as amazing as me." When you and I started, there were far fewer things to unlock. No gear, only 2 characters to unlock per class and far fewer weapons and mods. Typically by the time DLC came out and added stuff, we'd have maxed everything (save URs) and saved a lot of credits to immediately unlock everything new. New players don't have that plateau effect with all the past DLCs that we did.

Not to mention that I'm sick and tired of new players coming into Gold matches when they aren't at all ready. Bump up the credit output of lower difficulties and the only incentive to play Gold+ is the fun of the extra challenge. As it stands, there are far too many people entering Gold with:
- no medigel/rockets
- lower consumable capacities (having 6 medigels as opposed to 2-3 is a huge deal some games)
- low level weapons
- poor knowledge of game mechanics

Playing with these players makes matches last longer, more difficult and overall more frustrating.

I support it, but I don't think it will happen.

Something tells me the Bronze and Silver players are the ones spending money on packs.

Nah.
There is a LOT to unlock for new players. But a new player has to try out each new person and gun they do get, to see how it works and if its viable for them. If with bronze we are able to buy spectre packs at every difficulty, then there is no reason to use common or uncommon weapons - and for a bit people should work with those. Sometimes a player gets lucky and you get a low level rare weapon that lets you shine with your play style. Being Gold isn't as important as playing to your skill. I used to be a pretty good gold player in the old days before N7 HQ; now with the gold raised, I find I'm a good silver player and with the right class I can do gold.

Nope.

Nope nope nope.

When I started off, I played Bronze until I started topping the boards consistently, had a few characters to 20, and had most of my basic weapons at X. Recruit packs, yo. They is cheap.

I moved onto Silver, where I practiced and got used to the difficulty and got better at the game. When I started topping the charts on a regular basis with few deaths and consumables, I moved on to Gold with the classes I was most comfortable with. Silver is a good middle ground between stress and credits.

Gold is the real playground, and I only messed with it on two character classes I KNEW and felt I was tearing sh*t up with. The money wasn't the primary reason for moving on to Gold -- it was the challenge. The credits are more of a bonus to help keep you in the running. The ocassional rocket is necessary on Gold.

So for effort put in on Bronze and Silver, the credits earned aren't an issue. Matches are 15 minutes, tops.

So again, for good measure: Nope.

I started out playing a Concussive Shot build solider, and it performs as much as it is fun to this day. Almost no bullets needed. Might not be common knowledge. I used the Avenger for a long, long time.

Now that I think of it, for classes that hardly need weapons at all, pick an Adept. BE's still rock socks.

35k for Bronze and 60k for Silver is probably going overboard a bit, you're nearly tripling the yield for Bronze. 20k for Bronze and 40k for Silver fits a bit better, with the yield from Gold bumped up to 80k, and here's why:

-complete a Bronze match, easiest difficulty, get enough credits for either one Veteran Pack or 4 Recruit Packs.
-complete a Silver match, the "standard" difficulty level, get enough credits for 2 Veteran Packs and 2/3 of a Spectre Pack. Not enough for a Spectre pack in a single match, since Spectre is a rather prestigious title, you need more than just a single victory to prove yourself.
-complete a Gold match, the hard difficulty level, get enough credits for both a Spectre Pack and a Veteran Pack, with a Premium pack almost within reach. A nice incentive for someone to play another match, no?
-complete a Platinum match, the "are you nuts?" difficulty level, get enough credits for a Premium pack plus some left over, a suitable reward for your against-the-odds victory.

Also, for any newer players, if you're just starting out (and have already tried an Adept or Concussive Soldier), this thread earlier in the month was incredibly helpful and informative for me even when I thought I knew it all:

Fun Facts

I dislike even the mention of the community here being xenophobic or unwelcoming towards newer players. Some people are elitists, but the majority of us want to have teammates to count on for quicker and smoother matches.

Although I think 35k for Bronze and 60k for Silver is a bit much (maybe 25k Bronze, 45k Silver?) I really support this idea. And to some of you guys out there, seriously? "Because I had to do it" is NOT an adequate reason for making newer players have to spend that much time playing to get enough credits to buy a better pack only to be screwed over by the RNG.

There's just so much stuff in a manifest these days that even Gold credits feel lackluster. Bronze and Silver payouts are both complete jokes.

I'll second this proposal. It's never going to happen though, since it strikes at the heart of the MP economy.

even if its much later.

I totally support that proposal. Anything that incite noobs to stay in bronze/silver is a good proposal.

I have played for about a week; if that even, and I say when I join a gold lobby I'm not a hassle. If someone isn't willing to work for a couple of days to do gold that's their own damn fault. I did silver to get to gold... it's not that hard.

But I wouldn't complain with a credit increase on silver... I hate PuGs on Gold.

100% agreement with this, my manifest is like 70% complete and though I would have loved for this to have happened sooner, the benefits for helping newer players would be an asset to everybody! Makes the gaming community better all round allowing for better PUG matches more consistantly, which is great!!! Let's hope it happens, would makes things a lot better.

I agree. With the addition of new units and the collectors, difficulty has quite spiked a bit. An increase to payouts sounds like a good idea and if it is only for bronze/silver to help new players, we get an influx of new players which benefits us all in the long run.

Well I will bump this for the last time. I am taking a break from gaming for a good while and hope some of the ideas in this thread at least gets considered
