Missed the point.

I got the point just fine I just dont care. If you want more money thats your incentive to improve.

Hmm. Okay. Except he point of the post was that he didn't want more money. See what I mean?

I don't need the credits. I am sitting on 17.2 million credits at the moment with nothing to spend it on. Doesn't change the issue that new players have a ton more unlocks now than we did when we started playing and have more difficult enemies to face with crap for weapons, mods, and gears.

@Annomander: Weren't you going to rage quit the game anyways because of Infiltrators? Why do you care so much? Will them making more credits hurt your little enjoyment?

I guess that having most weapons unlocked and quite a few good ones at X curtails my empathy. I forget that I was able to unlock these weapons at a time when the game's big balance issues had to do with Geth and failed consumables.

A lot of that has been fixed, at least, but the complicated new mechanics are tricky for all of us, and new players may be having the hardest time of all.

Still, I think a credit increase is less helpful than addressing some of the other issues. Neither of us needs more credits, both of us want new players to stay. I think fixing glitches and general generosity (eep, judgement call, I know) from community-minded players like you is the best answer.

I disagree. If we make the bronze gave out such a reward for approx 12 min games. Then how will that ever motivate players to go to gold?

This is a non-bias view. Feel free to check my manifest and see I have very little. But I comfortably play silver and gold to get my credits.

I don't support this. I feel the payout is fine for their respective difficulties. Bronze is a joke. No reason to dump out almost 1/2 of Gold's credits to people who play that difficulty. Silver is just as easy, IMO. Want more money? Train on the lower difficulties until you can build your skill up to move up the ladder. When you can manhandle a difficulty then you climb up another rung.

Couldnt agree more. Getting good gear is more important thsn weapons. 200 hours should give the new joiners enough stuff to be competitive on Gold.

The motivation for me was being bored with Bronze and Silver. If a player doesn't want to move up I would rather them not.

While i see your point, the person approving this change would probably get fired, as the micro transaction business would pummel.

A team of 3-4 grenade classes can do a silver game in 12-15min. While this is also doable on even platinium difficulty on sertain maps, with a sertain combinations of classes, it is limited to a very small portion of the player base, and most likely the ones least likely to buy points to upgrade gear with.

Granting the ability to reliably get 60k credits in 12-15min, or 240-300k credits/hour, and thats just regular gameplay with spawn nuking, to pretty much everyone would completely destroy the incentative to buying packs for real money.

As such it is very unlikely to ever happen.

Maybe make bronze 20,000 instead of 35,000 and bump silver up to 40,000.

It's a bit higher meaning you can buy bigger packs then recruit but not too high.

How is Bronze a joke with an Avenger I and Kantana I with no mods and no gear? With no knowledge of the game and lack of weapons, characters, and gear I bet you wouldn't say the same thing.

Did you mean to reverse 20K and 35K?

I am kinda on the fence with this. Yes, I think Bronze and silver should get a little more credit for their games. But.... I don't think it should be such a big increase. I think something more realistic for that difficulty. Like 5k bronze, 7-10k silver. A small increase that will still help a little. But not high enough for good, even just decent players to exploit for easy credits.

And this comes from someone who has nothing but bad luck with packs. Who took a long break and came back after this whole collector upgrade and such. Who doesn't have any real fancy gears but also doesn't want the reward to be so great that I get everything just handed to me, pretty much.

Who are these people? I haven't noticed the Eliteists out in force in this thread so far.

BTW I have never ever played a Platinum match.

60k is probably a bit much for silver, but a slight increase to 45k as the best possible outcome could be workable perhaps?
And would mean you wouldn't see bronze/silver players invading the gold games. or farming fbw geth which still seems to happen a little.

I would suffice with the devs simply lowering JEPs down to 30,000, and then lowering PSPs, APs, and RPs to 90,000.

I'm sorry, but that extra 3,000 and 9,000 just grind my gears in the wrong direction. I have 98,910 credits, and I can't buy that AP.....it just annoys me.

Play a Bronze match to acquire the difference. problem solved.

I have to say that silver gives enough credits. Imo.

Because you can get spectre pack by completing 2 games. Yeah, it's around 20-30 mins. But still.

Your amounts are a bit high, but a bit more payout from both Bronze and Silver could be a good thing.

Bronze - 25k
Silver - 45k
Gold - 90k
Plat - 175k

That's what I'd like to see. I played some games on 360 (manifest and challenges are all on PS3) and even being good enough to solo Gold on my PS3 account, on the 360 Bronze was a stiff challenge with an Avenger I and no mods. Most of the games I played on 360 in Bronze were with Harrier-wielding folks that probably should have been on Silver or Gold, while I was stuck trying to kill a Banshee with a butter knife.

I doubt it'll happen for a few reasons.

1) As you can see from replies to this thread, a lot of people who have great manifests have a callous attitude toward the plight of the newbie - his spirit is willing, but his equipment is not.

2) Microtransactions. There is no motivation to pay for packs when a competent player can unlock them quickly.

3) Bioware bumped the credits for Gold to try and motivate people to move up. Their attitude seems to rest with established players - that is, if you want more cash, go play a higher difficulty. That attitude needs to be adjusted given how much stuff there is to unlock (and how much of it is not optimal for use on higher difficulties).

0/10 This does not solve the problem, and I'd prefer a Gold match.

No. It would make t easier for people changing to gold if there weren't bronze players in every gold lobby.
But still no. I would decrease the credits and a in a new difficulty between silver and gold.

I started playing just before Retaliation was released. The main problem for me has been fragmentation, by which I mean that I had a lot of things with just one or two ranks. It would be easier if you could concentrate your unlocks. Let me give a concrete example: having many rank 1 or two gears is a lot less useful than having a few rank 4/5 gears. People who played from the start had a chance to level up a smaller group of weapons and mods before new ones were released in batches that they could progressively work on.

The new Arsenal and Reserves packs are an attempt from Bioware to help alleviate this issue, however given their price they are out of the reach of new players.

There is, however, another equivalent solution: lower the prices of recruit and especially veteran packs. This will encourage new players to buy them and max their common/uncommon weapons and mods. Some of those silver weapons and especially the silver weapon mods can make a real difference. I would make a recruit pack 3.5k and vet pack 15k.

Those numbers look fine to me. Honestly it doesn't matter to me either way since I don't need them anyways, just figure with the amounts of complaints about the store as well as complaints about bad players in Gold this could work as a solution to both.

If this helps to clear gold/plat from farmer scrubs, why not.

But logical solution would be better balancing from biower. Making scions, praetorians, dragoons, bombers less OP and cheap. But it's biower, so tough luck.
