I... haven't played Far Cry 3, but even if it has a brilliant storyline and multiplayer, I do know that matching up to ME3 in both those regards is a very tall order indeed. The former even worse than the latter, because adding a well-balanced and fun PvP mode in wins a lot of points with me.

I was just revived during a match right when the wave completed. I was frozen for three rounds after that and could only use spectator mode.

While I enjoyed ME3 very much, I had to go with Far Cry 3. Controls are much better, enemy is more unpredictable (both humans and animals,) and just feels like a much more polished game. I get far more frustrated with ME3 then FC3 due to glitches and issues, and have not really felt like the minor issues in FC3 were causing me to die or preventing me from accomplishing missions.

EDIT:  But I do think it is hard to compare the two because they are two different games that offer two completely different experiences.

Farcry 3 loses by default because it's a first-person shooter.

I saw that, laughed my butt off.  My play through of it on PS3, I did not encounter any of those.  The only glitch I got was where my sniper rifle dissapeared for about 3 seconds after completing a mission, then it came right back.

ME3 and GOTY don't go together. As much fun as the MP is, it's hardly in the top 5 of the year in that aspect and the single player was average at best, not to mention incredibly disappointing. Saying that, Farcry 3 is just another FPS to me.

I hate fps games in general due to cod like games overwhelming the market right now. But I have to say far cry 3 is such a great game that I have to hand over the crown to that game in terms of single player. For mp I have to say me3 since I don't like PvPs in general. ,

Far Cry 3 is the superior game mechanically.

Mass Effect 3 has the better multiplayer in my opinion.

Far Cry 3 has the better single player.

...and fortunately for Far Cry 3 the only game released this year with a worse story and endings was Mass Effect 3.

If I felt like voting I'd vote for Far Cry 3... but that doesn't diminish the enjoyment I get from ME3's multiplayer.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Mass Effect 3 is a mediocre game plagued by horrible bug and balance issues, and definitely the worst in the trilogy. It deserves no awards. This is especially sad considering how great the first two games were.

Unfortunately biower has legions of overly dedicated fans who are more than accepting of major issues and will forgive and defend any problems their games have, thus telling other developers that it's perfectly acceptable to put out glitch ridden games that take months to get even a poorly produced patch (that further adds glitches), has the worst control scheme in generations, and a terrible ending to a plot hole dotted campaign.

An accurate description of ME3. Far Cry 3 is way better.

if it weren't for the multiplayer I would barely have played me3 since I bought it. contrary to popular opinion I was disappointed in the entire campaign not just the ending. As for comparing the two games I don't know I love them both.
