Multiplayer if done right (ME3 did this right with free content patches for all players IMHO) would be a hugely positive thing for me and my friends.
There ain't alot of decent Co-op fantasy RPG games, so even something as simple as a horde mode style co-op experience could help reel me in.
The idea of wizarding multiplayer is, frankly, just essentially an MMO, so it actually does exist in a myriad forms, and we all know Bioware's track record with those. It's nothing new, and the DA crew had better make it damned unconventional and innovative to rise above it.
Just don't see it happening, however. Not that I doubt their talent - not at all - given enough time, patience and funding from their overlords, and yeah, we'd get blown away, doubtless.
Let me put it this way: Bioware will make a happy ending/romance fulfilment DLC for ME3 for all the romances under 15 bucks before that happens.
Horde mode? Infuriatingly boring - run and shoot until you die. Zippee-doo-dah.
The Far Cry's and Unreals (the Halos on ocassion) do co-op and MP right, and no one has matched them in sheer replayability yet - ME3 certainly hasn't - and as as long as Bioware acts like a jealous little b!tch and forever refuses player mods and user-made maps, (and keeps it stupidly tied to SP) it'll stay the cruddy MP money-suck it actually is.
DA3's multiplayer will be no different. EA isn't about to mess with a cash teat.
