Emily Wong would have been a better choice than Allers.  I didn't like Allers or her hitting on my Shep.  He shut her up real quick.

first I am goint to say that I doubt the Aliliance wanted Jilani or Wong on the Normandy becuase they were working for independent news networks, The Alliance News Network is the Alliance's equivlent of the US's Stars and Stripes ,and that is why Allers was there

however, I think that a game reviewing companies employee filling that role is disgraceful on EA's part,thats worse than Microsoft secretly owning the majority shares of Gamestop and Best Buy.  A huge conflict of interest!!!!

I don't hate Diana Allers ( or Jessica Chobot ), I just think the character represents alot of the short sighted thinking that went into ME3's development ( why give us the option to take a reporter aboard the Normandy and kill off the most famous reporter in the ME Universe on twitter where noone would know about it ) as well alot of ME3's wasted potential ( Jessica Chobot is an attractive woman with a very cool personality, neither her her beauty or her personalty made the transition to ME3 ).

The Diana character was a slight miscalculation from Bioware.
I don't hate the character. But I just can't shake the feeling that she represents lots of wasted potential.
But at least she's fun to make fun of

I didn't hate Allers in fact I didn't even know she was a game host until she flashed up the photo of Allers and went, " That's me in the game!" I didn't make the connection at all she just was one of those sound familiar types to me. I don't like her character design like Miranda she looks horrible when out of CG and her clothing was another FU female players check out her ass! Score one for da' boys outfit.

Besides she's so out of the way on the ship its a non issues with her she just stays in her room talking to a robot I actually feel bad for bringing her along its like EDI declared the poor woman due to her dress code and horrible face can't leave the room because she would simultaneously terrorize and turn on all the men ( and Tryanor)  at the same time.

1/ The VA can't voice act for sh*t....if flat cardboard had a sound, that would be it.
2/ Shrink Wrap outfit.
3/ Potato features.
4/ Good Reporters we know and love sidelined for that atrocity.
5/ Fan service for boy children.
6/ Underhanded, under the table BS from EA.
7/ Money and time wasted elsewhere when they should have been working on Tali's face.

I don't hate her I just didn't like her. I wanted to talk to her more and I was hoping she was more interactive but she isn't.

I HATE the whole "click on character and listen to them talk" thing introduced by Zaeed and Kasumi. Would it have been that much more work to just make those conversations regular dialogue wheel conversations? The voices are already recorded.

Instead if I want to exhaust the dialogue options I'm forced to keep on clicking like a ****** until they say some generic dust-off like, "Come back later Shepard".

I would have preffered Emily Wong or Kalisah Al-Jilani as well...but I don't hate Diana Allers. Bioware didn't put much effort into her interviews (some short and generic lines), and the romance arc is really shallow. The writers didn't give Jessica Chobot much to work with.

Bad voice, poor in game model, and lame romance. The character is flat and really nothing more than a prop on the Normandy imo.

Because she's Jessica Chobot. As in, she has her voice, her face, and her profession. They effectively went to a moderate amount of trouble to put an IGN journalist into their game, and nobody involved with arranging such should've agreed to it. I could think of at least one way I'd have put those resources to better use, too.

I've nothing against Chobot as a person, you understand. But she has no business being there.

I'm not the biggest fan of Tali, actually  I'm pretty far from it.

But when I see that pic, and then think about the resources that went into creating Allers........ GODDAMMIT!

Whether you like or dislike the character, please discuss it without the swearing and other inappropriate language. Self-censoring with asterisks to circumvent the language filter still counts as swearing in this forum, so please cut it out.

One thing makes me curious, if a modder fixed up the character model's face to look more fitting and had another more decent female voice actor record the lines, would you guys still hate the character even in her modded form?

I often think that the perfect solution for her is to have someone tune up the model and to get a new woman in to redo her lines. We'll never get Khalisa Al-Jilani (my preference) or Emily Wong, but a modder could theoretically fix Diana enough to be acceptable.

She was an unnecessary addition to the story, and Chobot DID NOT have the acting chops to pull it off. That's why.

The idea of a reporter on the Normandy was a good one, but it's not like it was well implemented ether.
