Hello fellow Neverwinter Nights 2 players!
I've played this game on a borrowed copy and found that I enjoy it a lot. So much that I decided to buy my own copy so I could join my friend in online adventures. Unforunately I've got this problem where every server I try to connect to tells me my codes are unauthorized. I've already waded through plenty of forums and comments to try and get this problem fixed. Nothing has helped. Maybe someone with a recently bought game (Neverwinter Nights Complete is what I just got) could tell me how they fixed the problem.
Maybe someone would be kind enough to let me use their cd codes with a promise of my staying on a server they don't use? ^.^ I'm looking to get into the Kingdom of Haven without kicking people off of their server. Anyone willing to help?
Trying to play multiplayer

Yes, I've been all over those sticky topics. I'll list what I tried to get these finicky cdkeys to work, maybe you'll find a mistake in them for me! ^.^
First I found the fix for the nwncdkey.ini... My copy (Neverwinter Nights Complete) installed with a file called "nwncdkey.ini" so I tried what some suggested and renamed it "nwn2cdkey.ini". That didn't change anything. In the wake of that I decided to attempt to create a new .ini file. I clicked new in another .ini file and re-typed everything just for the sake of security. Unfortunately my computer would not allow me to save this file in the proper folder for NWNII. I saved it to my desktop and it kept being converted into a .txt there. I made a final effort of placing the .txt with cdkeys into the NWNII folder, I did this with the file named "nwncdkeys" as it came from installation and "nwn2cdkeys". Unfortunately neither worked. I also tried copying a .ini file from another game and changing it to "nwncdkeys" and then "nwn2cdkeys" with the keys inside, unfortunately that also made no difference.
After all of that I came upon something that suggested I meddle with the hosts file. After making it so I could open notepad as administrator, I added the two lines that have been suggested to add. That only made the realization that the main server is down go by faster, much to my appreciation, but didn't change my problem. So I then tried to open the dos box as someone suggested and type in two lines of code... I don't know if I got that one right, but it changed nothing as well.
The same person who posted something about writing the code posted the never launcher (http://dl.dropbox.co...auncher/NWNX.7z ) and said that would help. I downloaded it, but it refuses to run for some reason I don't understand. It takes for ever to load and then gives an error message. I've downloaded it three times now for the same problem.
Another then suggested I patch my game. However, Neverwinter Nights Complete comes with all current patches up to version 1.23. I still gave it a go and downloaded all of the patches to try and re-patch my game. The built in patcher saw nothing so I used a player made patcher, which dictated that the files for the patches already existed and could do nothing.
I got frustrated and went to a Kingdom of Haven moderater for help and was given a client extension that should help. Unfortunately, that (found here: http://nwvault.ign.c...r.Detail&id=231 ) didn't make a difference either. I did get version 1.0.0.21 the version supposed to help.
Then the obvious struck me. I actually sat down and wrote out all possible combinations of orders for these three keys I got and typed them in each time for these orders. That was a glorious waste of time, but a fair try in my opinion.
In light of all these failed attempts, I hope someone has a method I missed or noted a mistake on my end. Or there's some good Samaritan out there who doesn't intend to play on the Kingdom of Haven and will simply let someone who bought the game specifically to play there use them. ^.^
