...are they going to be Wardens? I know our Origins party, only two of us were actual Wardens, and one of our main goals in the new campaign is to rebuild the Grey Warden order, so are we going to see the results of our task?

I'd like a full party of Wardens to be honest, all at my command (being a commander afterall).

Another hope i'd like is that these 'new' party members aren't all that new, just our old companions that have went through the Joining, and are now thought of as new characters, new Grey Wardens.

Based upon the trailer, at least one is, the male human mage.
Then I'm sure Oghren is the favorite (not mine, but I guess others), so he isn't.
Beyond that is anybodies guess, but I would say most will be, since you are now Warden Commander and running the whole Ferelden shin-dig.

If we are to get a respecc of our character, why not the old familiar 'new' ones?

You see the Mage undergo the ritual, so yes he is a Warden.

As for the rest, chances are pretty high that they are all Wardens except the returning one.

bzzzzt. Except POSSIBLY the one returning... Not happening. No way. They are new characters you've never met before... Though the Orlesian Grey Warden may have.

According to the IGN Q&A, your old pals may make a cameo if you're importing a save and had a relationship with them... but NOT as party members.

Well according to the infos so far, no you won't get your favorite old ones back and transformed into Grey Warden. Just one of them (officially not named yet) will adventure the expansion with you.



Personally I'm quite happy to get new companions. It means more differerent backstory and personality to enjoy interacting with.

Of the old companions? No, they are either gone (SPOILER!!! Like sten went back home END SPOILER) or they didn't want to become Grey Wardens (who can blame them).

Right. They are gone for reasons that will be explained or should be explained when you finish the game.
