Garrus - Rock solid friend of all my Shepards, even with the sociopathic one. I love his sniper scene at the Citadel (I let him win every time since he's a bro)
Mordin - I liked him and his mission in ME2 and seeing where it ended up (regardless of how I dealt with the genophage) sealed the deal. Hidden depths, and interesting to see his story unfold.
Javik - Liked his insights into some things (Even if/when I disagreed with his advice), appreciated his very different (more pragmatic/harsh/realistic) view of the world as a counterpoint to my paragon playthroughs. His humor/trolling was great too.
Ashley - (main LI for my male Shepards), mostly due to ME1. I really liked her contrast to the typical character in CRPGs and her pragmatic approach to the world around her, though still leaving room for her to grow. Didn't like what they did with her in ME2 (shocking, I know) and not a huge fan of how she was included in ME3 either, although I liked the goodbye/evac scenes.
Wrex - Admittedly I might be factoring in his post-squad ME2/3 appearences without meaning to, but I loved him in ME1. I have never really gotten too attached or interested in Grunt because I'd rather have had Wrex with me again
Among those I didn't list, I like Tali the most, as a little sister to my Shepards of both genders, then probably Legion.

5th place is probably a long way down from those four, and a big tie besides, so I'll omit it in this thread.

Miranda, Grunt, Garrus, Liara, Javik. Make that six and I include Mordin.
Grunt: my bodyguard. Probably the only squaddie who would never think twice before jumping into any fight with/for me. The one squaddie I surely would've taken into the last battle if possible.
Miranda: my second in command. Great in combat, complementary skill set to my infiltrator make-up, main LI.
Garrus: my bro. Probably the squadmate my Shep trusts the most.
Liara: the brain of my group when it comes to putting the clues we find together. Potential LI on some playthroughs. Is the one that has the greatest belief in Shep.
Javik: a force! No need for more words.
Mordin: my scientist which I would've loved to be around when the Starbrat talked about synthesis.

Loved her from the beginning, but she was never my LI (I just.. don't date aliens.. sorry). But I respected her, fought with her, shared everything and freed her home planet, great journey and cute accent.
2. Ashley Williams
In ME1 really fun talking to and a wall that doesn't get downed often. Just a good, down-to-earth soldier and my LI, although I found her irritating in ME3 and stopped dating her there.
3, Kasumi
Just fitted perfectly to my cloaked Infi-Shep, the hooded stealth team. Great to work with her
4. Thane Krios
Really good soldier to fight with.
5. Hmm, hard to say if it's Liara or Grunt
Grunt had me when he shot those little drones out of the air, shouting "weak" permanently :-)
Liara is great, expecially in ME3 with the legacy of Shepard she's created as a gift. So probably Liara wins this.

Tali: Favorite LI kind of like a good friend turned lover kind of thing not to mention pretty BA with the combat knife.
Mordin: How could you not love him? He's the best and he has his funny dialouge rejecting you because he thinks you want to date him.
Wrex: Shepard
Zaeed: Hello he's like a freaking space pirate who pretty much survived 6 shots to the head because he wanted to

1: Wrex - Literally the biggest bad ass in the entire Mass Effect trilogy. He comes off as intelligent and sympathetic even with his usual krogan attitude. Before meeting Wrex in Mass Effect in 2007 I had generated a disliking for Krogan, believing them all to be war hungry and violent. Meeting Wrex changed my mind about the krogan. He's strong-willed and insightful.
2: Tali'Zorah - I always had a liking towards Tali. She was the child of the group in Mass Effect but still came off as competent. Quarians were very mysterious in Mass Effect 1 and we never saw very many or any at all really. Learning about her culture really made her stand out from the crowd. Where most of your crew had their morals and values that made them unique instead Tali stood out because of how different she was. About how different her culture was. She was also the most innocent of the group and overall the most positive. Her progression from Mass Effect 1 to 2 to 3 was fantastic. Her development really showed how she's been growing up over the years. She is stern and honourable but also innocent and sympathetic.
Bonus: Tali Romance: At first I had romanced Ashley Williams in Mass Effect 1 but decided to romance Tali in Mass Effect 2. Tali's personality fits the agenda for what I enjoy in a girlfriend. She came off as very caring but also very nervous and unsure. Her modesty makes her different from the other romances. She's so adorable
3: Garrus - My very first playthrough of Mass Effect 1 I actually hated Garrus. I thought he was whiny and very preachy. He would complain about C-Sec a lot and seemed to be a hard ass. I always took Tali and Wrex or Ashley and Wrex on missions so I never got to see much dialogue other than his conversations on the Normandy about C-Sec. This is surprising because in Mass Effect 2 I was so excited to see him again (For some reason). I developed the biggest man crush on him and thankfully my wish for a bromance came true. Garrus' tragic past made him a very strong character and his morals were easier to understand. Personally I agreed with all of Garrus' renegade-esque morals so connecting with him was very easy. Garrus is probably the greatest companion character and friend in any video game series. Garrus is understanding and wise. He is "human" and 3 dimensional. He is dedicated, bold, brave, and sympathetic. He's a wonderful character.
4: Zaeed Massani - Seriously this guy is such a bad ass. Not to mention he's Saul Karath. Zaeed comes off as wise while being such a bad ass. He has this rough exterior but in some moments you see he has a softer side, a caring side. I love characters like him and it's a shame most of his dialogue in Mass Effect 2 was auto dialogue and he had such a small presence in Mass Effect 3. I believe there was so much potential with Zaeed but I'm glad he was a part of my team.
5: Ashley Williams (Mass Effect 1): Ashley was by-far the most useful companion outside of Garrus' sniper rifle and Wrex. Ash was the best tank in the game and was able to deal a hell of a lot of damage. Unlike a lot of people though I really enjoyed her character. I enjoyed seeing the military brass stereotype but a soft side too. She was more than just a "YES SIR" soldier, there was more to her than that. She wanted to prove herself and be a part of the team. Her xenophobia also gave her something to work on and see progress throughout the first game.
Don't even get me started on Mass Effect 3 Ash (No braid???? Man-like jaw structure. No pink default armour? Two conversations inside of the Normandy?). I might as well have just left them both on Virmire, I don't think it would have changed the third game.
*Special Mentions*
Mordin: I really liked Mordin as a character. He is one of my most favourite in the entire series. Shame he completely sucked as a squadmate though. I never got why they even made him a squadmate. Sure keep him on the ship and bring him along for the loyalty mission but shouldn't he be on the ship doing experiments and gathering research? Not helping me find Jacob's father?

1. Kaidan Alenko - Criminally underrated. His relationship with Shepard is the most genuine and realistic, in my opinion. He's humble, compassionate, sincere, and one of the few stable and well-adjusted members of the crew. Shepard has enough craziness to deal with it. It's nice to have someone sane around.
2. Urdnot Wrex - I like characters that surprise me. When he was first introduced, I had him pegged as a simple-minded brute, but he turned out to be reasonable. The krogan in general seem very short-sighted. I really appreciate that Wrex is not your typical korgan.
3. Dr. Karin Chakwas - I love how she speaks with such passion. Sharing a drink with her was one of my favorite moments in ME2. My Shepard considers her a very close friend, so I couldn't leave her off this list.
4. Mordin Solus - The very model of a fantastic character. He had such an impact on me. I didn't like him at first. I had a hard time trusting anyone on Omega, and when I learned about his involvement with the genophage, he had some ground to make up. But before I knew it, he became my favorite character introduced in ME2.
5. Samantha Traynor - I like the growth she shows in the limited amount of time we have with her. She starts off unsure of her ability to contribute to the crew, but really applies herself and come through for you. She just has a really charming personality.
Honorable mentions - Kasumi, Tali'zorah, Garrus, Legion, Samara. I could go on, since there are loads more characters I love, but these five were the real contenders as far as making the list.
LI: Kaidan Alenko - He got a much stronger emotional response from me than I was prepared to give.

I take it by that you mean, you can have lesbian sex with her in each of the three games?

2. Garrus - Loyal, skilled and for me the most personally dedicated of the squad - how could he not be on the list?
3. EDI - ok forget the stupid body and the Joker "romance" **shudder**. I find her extremely funny and really like the interactions with Shepard. Plus you have got to respect anyone who doesn't hold a grudge after you kill them.
4. Legion - the geth's Mr Exposition in some ways but still utterly awesome - especially his fondness for WoW and the donations to the Eden Prime charity.
5. Kasumi - lightens up the ship in 2.
LI- Liara who um isn't on the list.....Quite liked her in 1, really liked the hardened version in 2/LotSB but then wanted to strangle her for large sections of 3. Shame Miranda's straight really.

Ha.
No, she is the only female (ish) that is available for more than 1 games that i can romance with femshep.
If i could bare to listen to Mark Meers voice for more than a few minutes i would go for Jack, but i can't.

5. The random guy who walks around the Normandy, for he is the only person showing some respect and saluting me (weapon check before entering to the war room ladies do not count).
Seriously, man... Where was my squad slot for THAT guy? I bet HE wouldn't have ****ed if I tried to tell him to move to some unreachable location in the middle of a fight.
