I will fiddle around with it for a little bit after I finish the game I'm in at the moment.

(The only reason I was able to post now is because I got sync-killed by a brute on wave 2....)

OP, you're on PC, right? I've only seen this happen to PC players. Never seen it on xbox before..

Just did another Gold, Reapers and Krogan Soldier.

I actully sandwiched my Krogan between two ravengers w/rage, Full melee build level 18.

I lost my shields only after the first Ravanger went down, 3 heavy melee's (strength enhancer III was used + jugg shield amp). Second Ravanger too down my health to 3 bars (after the acid and all).

Still no instant health gate nor sudden death the whole round from Ravangers.

Well, I don't think it comes from them releasing their sacks either. In your video you got instantly shield/healthgated around when the sacks blew. But in Trick's video he seemed to just drop when the Ravager and Cannibal so much as looked at him.

I can not say......was focusing on my shields and health to get those "moments" recorded.

I can not say......was focusing on my shields and health to get those "moments" recorded.

I see this all the time.... and by this, I mean "ravenger" ..... usually its in game chat though... frickin EVERYBODY seems to pronounce it this way and it bugs me. It makes me want to "ravenge" their eye socket

I play the Valkyrie very often and kill ravagers like this, but I always immidately do the biotic back-slide, just to avoid things like...ravager goo and swarmers jumping at me. I advice you try the same.

Was that Gold? You take already damage before engaging the ravager, the Cannibals are firing at you. You also lose health before the shield is down. We know that the display lags behind the damage calculation so you must be taking massive damage in that glimpse of time.
What was to your left? If you run right into a spawn and everything fires you not gonna last long.

ZoM_Head: at 7:00 there seem to be shots coming from behind, do you know how many enemies were left? It does look like a Brute and a Banshee were left.
Could it be the Ravager was just firing at your buddies when it turned and the ravager shots hit you instead? That's my guess.

I usually approach the Ravagers openly, they lock on me and I dodge or reach them before they fire, then they are sitting ducks. You are surprising the ravager which was locking onto another target. I guess when you play a Krogan they normally see you coming, too.:happy:

I had it happen to me on a Demolisher on my very first Platinum match. This was pre-Retaliation, and pre-patch.

Edit: To clarify, the only other unit alive at that time was a Banshee, and she was on the other side of a wall from me.

I've had occasional instances of this with the pre-patch N7 Paladin against ravagers. But I haven't had much issue with Ravagers since the patch to be honest.

Yes it was Gold.

Not sure what was on my left, it was the old Firebase White and it was at the start of the wave so I don't think there should have been anything there. But honestly I can't remember as I posted the video early August I probably played that game late July.

Also I slowed the video down to a quarter speed. I noticed that I do get health gated when my shields are at about half. Also all that damage taking me from full shields and three bars of health to dead, happens in under a second.

As far as I can tell the Ravager wasn't looking at me (I was to its side), its blue lazer things weren't on / pointing at me and I can't hear a Ravager shot.

I checked and with the build I was using I would have 825 Health and 1850 Shields. Going off that one bar of health is a fifth of your health, I was on 495 health.

I've encountered this issue also, OP. I think it might be a Ravager bug rather than Valkyrie cause I've had it happen with Engineers also.

Finally had come in here and ask why OP hasn't fixed the title yet. I'm sure someone's mentioned by now how Ravager is spelled.

Ravagers do this to ALL my vanguards. Most notoriously to my novaguards, but the slayer and kroguard aren't immune.

It seems it's a result of a bug with the ravager plus another enemy firing at you simultaneously. I've never had a Ravager completely on its own manage an insta-down, but you throw any bullet-firing enemy in the mix and that happens.

I *think* it's actually that you get hit by the acid, swarmers (which you don't see), first cannon shot, and bullets near-simultaneously. It only happens in close-quarters, so it clearly has something to do with the Ravager melee-range attacks.
