3- A Rachni Brood Warrior or Aria

I don't understand all the people putting Liara on their lists. I mean, she's strong, but she isn't a biotic god.

I put her on my list because she can form a singularity. We know from one of the novels that Singularity is among the most advanced of all biotic techniques. It's almost impossible to form one, unless the user is enormously
powerful... and Liara is the only squadmate who can use it. But Aria and Samara/Morinth are still stronger biotics, I think.

After playing Omega, I'd probably go in this order.

1. Aria
2. Samara
3. Jack
4. Liara

After that Its kind of tough to differentiate. Probably Biotic Shep, Miranda or Kaidan the fifth spot.

I think Javik might be the most powerful.

Y'know, him being a Prothean and all. His race gave the Asari the power to use Biotics and also - his Biotics are GREEN.

It would be very hard to place him as we don't know much about Prothean biotics, and we don't see many in action.  Also, we don't know if he is a good example of the best Prothean biotics or if he is just average.

But you could be right, just hard to guess compared to other characters.

hm...how about this order:

1. Asari SPECTRE (the one you had to fight in ME2 when you were after the shadow broker)
2. Asari Matriarch (one that uses her biotics often an is a military instead of a spiritual leader)
3. Asari Bartender Matriach (she says she can use a singularity - and she gets the bonus for being hilarious)
4. Asari Commando-Unit/Liara (hell she is an Asari-Commando more or less, because she is in situations to use her biotics often and she is rather good with them, too)
5. Jack (she is a doped/engineered biotic and she could be stronger then some of the above if she had more restraint and used tactics, too (i calculated how someone would use his power into this list, too) and Kaidan (he spikes higher than most other biotics he says, save for: shepard!) and shepard
6. anybody else (from human biotics, to turians, to salarians etc.)

greetings LAX
ps: i have not placed Jarvik as i do not know where he would fit

practice means nothing.

You either have Biotic Potential or you do not.

No Amount of training can raise your Biotic Potential (Thus the meaning of "Potential").

however, Jack had her Potential raised via expirements we know near nothing about.

Samara handds down, she spent hundreds of years perfecting her skills at killing other powerful biotics -Ardat Yakshi. So yeah even if jack has more raw power Samara would still kick everybodys ass with her experience.

Biotic Potential has nothing to do with Practice.

You can train with weapons or martial arts, because they are something that can be improved upon.

Biotic Potential has a limit however.

If I recall from what Kaidan said in ME1, Biotics are produced due to contact with EZero while in the womb. therefore, the Biotic Potential would be limited depending on how much Ezero contamination there was.

That's with humans and (as far as I know) other species but NOT the Asari.

All Asari are born with Biotics, regardless of if they made contact with ezo in the womb. You can definetley practice and hone your Biotic power, I doubt Liara was throwing people throw walls at the age of 6.

It also depends on how much time one spends learning to control their abilities, and how much experience one has using them.

There's a reason humanity had BAat, then Ascension, and Grission Academy.

Story-wise I've never got the impression Liara is all that super powerful, Biotic wise. At least, not by Asari standards.

Mechanics say she's great, but mechanically Jack and Samara are fairly average. Though I do wish her tech skills hadn't been forgotten.

Potential?  Doesn't mean jack... lol ... without the realization of that potential. It's a Demarcus Cousins vs. Karl Malone debate there.

indeed that's why i would not say Jack - despite being a really strong biotic (she was experimented on to get her to be as strong as an asari - and stronger of possible, as the asari - like it or not - are the stronges biotics we know (we can't really rate the protheans so, that is why I did not put Jarvik in my rating)) is all that strong on the scale (she has high potential, but in a fight it really means almost nothing if she can't use it because she either is out after a couple of seconds or because her enemy makes her exhaust herself and then attacks her or something ;)

and i forgot something: i did not rate Samara ;) i would say she is close to the top (not at the level of a matriarch who was in the asari military for most of her live and maybe even part of an asari-commando-team for a great part of that military career, but pretty high - why? because as a justicar i am sure she had to contend with many asari criminals (and most of them probably use biotics!) and of course she had to contend with her daughters who are really strong biotics, too (doesn't their condition make them stronger?) so yes, she is near the top :)

greetings LAX

Of the characters we've seen use them... I'd say Aria. I recall one of Samara's class evolutions saying she reached nearly the power of a matriarch. Aria is a matriarch, if my admittedly rusty alien lesbian lore is correct. Jack is said to be the most powerful human biotic, but the way they put "human" in there clearly indicates she's still not quite as powerful as some upper echelon aliens.

This can be tricky to determine, depending on whether we're basing it on gameplay, narrative, some mix of the two...

I'd say that Jack is a definite contender.  She doesn't seem particularly focused in her application of force, but the devastation that follows her on Purgatory is impressive.  Aria strikes me as similar to Jack in being hugely powerful, but unfocused and impulsive.  Aria, being tempered by age and experience, I think would take an edge over Jack.  Samara seems as though her rigorous training, centuries of experience, and apparent life of unending conflict would place her mighty high on the list, moreso than a hypothetical asari matriarch who, though likely powerful, may not have the same level of "live-fire practice" as a Justicar.

Liara can be impressive gameplay-wise, but I can't help but feel she'd be just below the threshhold for true biotic greatness: very, very good, but not really awe-inspiring.  Same for Miranda, despite my personal love of KO'ing husks with Slam.  Kaidan, I regret to say, I don't have enough experience with to make a qualified judgement.  The two that seem to be overlooked, though, are Wrex and Shepard.  Krogan supposedly produce powerful biotics, and Wrex shares the centuries of experience that help boost Samara and Aria in my estimation.  Add in the life of conflict, hardy physiology, and tactical/battle knowledge, and I would argue Wrex is a very strong choice for any top three.

Shepard is more difficult because obviously every Shepard is different, but from my own experience playing as an adept, I feel my Shep could hold her own against nearly all of the other encountered biotics.  The speed and force at which an adept Shepard can dole out destruction is truly impressive, especially at high levels.  Its that recharge time that really kills some of the biotic squadmates gameplay-wise, something that doesn't seem to hamper Shepard as much.  I would argue that the things truly holding Shepard back are his/her relative youth, and the relative newness of humanity to the whole biotic thing.  Alliance biotic programs have clearly had some growing pains in the past, and probably have plenty to room for improvment.

This has been a ridiculously longwinded way of saying:

1. Wrex/Samara
2. Aria/Jack
3. Shepard

Wish we'd seen a bit more of Saren's biotic abilities.  The relationship between turians and their biotics seems quite interesting from  what little we've learned from the Codex and Nyreen...

Agreed. The Leviathans are able to use Dominate through a conduit, which no other person seem to be able to do in the game.

1. Leviathan
2. Jack/Samara
3. Shepard/Aria/Liara
