I've been watching alot of great Mass Effect Tributes, but most of the ones I've seen on youtube have defualt shepard (male mostly) instead of the players custom shepard.  I'm just asking just to ask, why?  I kinda like the videos that show the makers custom shepard - it makes the video feel more personal.

I wondered that too. Maybe there's a lot of Gears of War players selecting "Quick Start Shepard".

It's probably as simple as 'it's the default option selected for you' just like one report for one installment that said Soldier was the most popular AT. It's also the first, pre-selected, option in the list too.

Most people believe that Sheploo is the best looking male Shepard. I tend to agree, but I still usually prefer to play with a custom one. 99% of the custom male Sheps use the same facial structure, 5 on the scale, since it's the best looking one, which leads to hardly no variation in looks without modding.

I use Sheploo because he looks better than anything created in the Character Creator. In my opinion, at least.

I never get a good male shepherd out cc, so i go default and really don't like him because of some of his sinister facial expressions.

Sheploo is so darn handsome! There's nothing I could create (on the XBox) that could come anywhere close to his chiselled gorgeousness. I don't want an ugly hero saving the galaxy in my game :-)

I want my Sheps ugly, so I never choose default. Even ME1-2 default femShep is too good-looking for me.

It's funny because I'd much rather see custom male sheps but default femsheps - for some reason custom femsheps seem to be ugly whereas custom male sheps seem to be better.

3 reasons:

1. Sheploo was specifically created (face scan and such), which to me means that the creators felt this was the face of the franchise. I obliged.

2. It is, in my opinion, the best face for the games because it benefits the most from animation (thus reaffirming my 1st reason).

3. All my custom Shepards (Male and Female) all look like complete and utter crap (all due to my negative Custom Character Creation skills).
