If 3 English speakers are all speaking English and one Norwegian joins, should the English speaks now all go into a private chat or speak Nowegian?
Of course not, because English is the common language, Norwegian is not.

2) I personally don't feel it was your intention, but your OP may have come off to many as being a little rude on the topic. Again, personally, I didn't feel that way; seemed like you were just asking the opinion of other forumites. But interpreting tone in text can be tricky, particularly when various posters are not necessarily speaking their own native language. Plus see #1. Lots of folks may just be making assumptions about what you meant and how you meant it.
Seriously, don't take it personally.

+ your OP can be seen as insulting, your thought isn't detailed enough there, remember that many replies didn't even read the whole thread
How can it be insulting when I wrote in the first post that I am not a native English speaker?

As for me, I don't really care. I play late at night frequently, so I run into a lot of russians. Doesn't concern me none, as long as they know how to play the game. If there just babble endlessly and won't shut up, then I might get annoyed, but that's regardless of the language they speak.

What do you guys think of people who speak a non-English language in a public PUG? I wish everyone would speak English in public ones, and have private teams for your own language. And I am not a native English speaker, but it's annoying to get my headset and mic on, only to hear enthusiastic and constant debates going on in German/Italian/Finnish without me being able to participate, contribute or understand what they are talking about.
It's the nature of the international beast that is PUGs. Ultimately, it doesn't make sense to even attempt to convince them not to do it, since they likely wouldn't understand you.
Think of the upside. They were either lucky enough to find each other randomly, or they planned it that way. Either way, they'll probably function better as a team. As long as you're helping, they'll be happy you're around.
If they aren't in a private chat channel, you may have to do a little "muting on the run," which gets considerably more difficult on higher difficulty levels. PC users can't do that at all.
So at that point... enjoy the novelty of the foreign accents, maybe?

So what if one Chinese speaker joins that does not speak English?

I don't have a mic so for me it's no issue whether the other players are playing from somewhere else.

Ha, ha..................... just the other night I was on with 3 Spanish speaking players. I thought it was great when they would say " El Bruto" or call me " El MadDog". Real fun that was, I only understood the cuss words and a few words I picked up from my vacation on Malli.

On extraction wave i blast final countown and sing along to that as well.

Ironic, given how incredibly rude and ignorant your thread comes off as.
But to answer your question, I'm only being honest. You're quite adept at missing the point.

Also, original Poster is Norwegian, something it's pretty clear several posters didn't actually catch onto.
The question is really where the practical bumps up against that which is culturally sensitive. Most of the posters here seem to agree that if there is a common language, it makes sense to speak that language. Some people are shy speaking in a second language, and that's ok.
I've always been aware of how lucky I am that Engish is my first language. It allows me to communicate with more people on the planet than any other language. That's the best thing about it, which is a question of practicality, not value (i.e. it doesn't make "English better").
But any way you look at it, you'll sometimes be the one who doesn't understand the language. Even age can account for that. I don't use my microphone most of the time because Xbox Live is mostly composed of kids. That's also just a question of practicality - I'm the one in the minority, but I don't mind if a bunch of kids want to talk about the Kardashians.
Okay, I'm lying, I would never listen to a bunch of kids talk about the Kardashians!

1. People speaking their native tongue over the internet because they may not be able to, any need to or the inclination to learn one of the hardest languages to learn in the world?
OR
2. Believing that the most spoken language in the world is English? It would be much easier to teach 6 billion people Mandarin than to teach 6.5 billion English.
