if i get my flags, then yes (damned i knew i forgott something) you can have the anti-straight flag, too!
greetings LAX
ps: no i do not hate it when straight people (girls in this case - me being male) come on to me!
some might says those girls are "easy", "desperate" or some such drivel (non-sense, crap, bull**** etc.) but most of them are not, they just know what they want and are not afraid to take it (I LOVE THAT - why? - because i believe in equality in all things from the draft (we do not have that anymore in germany now thank god!), to paying for dinner if you are out, to making the first move etc. and because agency (doing something by yourself) shows independence, strength even bravery (because advances can be rejected!))
pps: yes, saying no is hard, because say in DA2 there was no real letting them down gently option, you always felt like such a DICK-WAD after doing it -.- i hate that
I see. You know, I've never read an opinion like that before! In fact, it makes me wonder: what are your thoughts on yaoi?

I was going to post this. Damnation. I knew I should have posted before dinner.
But back on topic, I love the idea of romances in general, so added non-companion romances sound great, even if they don't have the same ammout of content as companion romances. I really loved SWTOR's "one night stand" type romances, and they weren't really that deep. For one particular character, I actually liked her fling more than her romance!
Anyway, I'm all for it.

For the sake of my funny-as-hell Playboy Warden walkthrough, I would like situations like those to return.

I voted it down as it's just not that interesting to me.
But it irks me that I can't find the original thread because this topic was already covered from all angles.

More so I wouldn't mind romancing someone halfway normal.

It should stay they way it is, they don't need to focus hypely on romances.

I like the idea. I'd like to be able to return to a town where I helped some young lass and be able to have romance dialogue with her. And others. Not too many. But enough to be considered a harlot heroine if I so desired. Really it is just for the ego of what ever character I decide to get into and play. Some people should LOVE me for helping them. I would happily take payment of 'flesh' than actual monetary currency depending on the person. Cause that's how my characters usually role.

It they stayed at home base(think Wade in Awakening), then it would likely be no more difficult than any other. You'd just miss out on exploration banter.
If I have to trek across Thedas to get back to my LI's town or whatever, then it could be seen as annoying, though it could also add a level of depth to the relationship. (soldier back from war and whatnot).

none - need to research the term first. sorry, i am not all knowing
greetings LAX
ps: will "report" back here after looking that up
pps: ok, i looked (google an wikipedia are my friends - at least sometimes ^^) it up:
my oppinion? - well, i have non (still don't) because i will not inform myself more about that, because i am just not interested as this concerns something i am not interested in (which is ******-erotic and ******-romantic stuff with males loving males which - i do not know why - is just creepy to me...also i am accepting of women loving women....strange, might be some baggage from my upbringing (i might have swung both ways myself and was experimenting with it (didn't actually try going all the way though)...but my parents discouraged that - i do not know if i would have stayed that way but i am no longer interested in males and just tend to ignore it if someone is actually gay or bisexual (if male), if a woman admits to liking girls - exclusively or swinging both ways - i tend to be interested though...sorry if that offends you, but i am how i am, also i try not to carry pre-conceived-notions around, i can't actually get rid of all of them....i try though

That's not the Steve I know in my playthrough. You pretty much have to initiate the relationship with gay romance all the way. Steve has never hit on you once, and you have to hit on him 3 times before starting the relationship. The romance wouldn't even happen if you lock-in a romance with someone else. Even when Bioware takes precaution to prevent these types of situations, people still able to bring it up and complain. It's like people know that Steve is gay and they just automatically assume that he would come on to them or something. People need to stop suggesting a gay toggle already. They are very discriminative. If I don't want to be hit on by a hispanic or an Asian character, perhaps there should be a toggle for that, too.DarthLaxian wrote...

Would't mind seeing the Dragon Age equivalents of Samantha and Steve. As they will provide some much needed variety from the main LIs, who will be interested in the protagonist regardless of gender.I would prefer DA samantha to be the Blacksmith and DA Steve be MaA.
not a bad idea - but i would want one thing to be able to be set beforehand (for any player-character):
gay: yes/no
lesbian: yes/no
bisexual: yes/no
because i absolutely hate gays coming on to me because i am nice to them (Steve in Mass Effect and Zefran in DA:O - because i feel like an ass telling them where to stick itbecause i want to romance the hot blue girl/women (Liara) or the antagonistic witch/****-women (Morrigan))
with a flag, this would not happen - and let's face it:
while i will never (and have never) play(ed) a homosexual men, i love to play girls/women who are lesbian or swing both ways (and i love to play straight women, too)
and this flag would stop something like that from happening.
greetings LAX
ps: NO - i do not HATE gay people (in fact i have had a friend in the past (lost contact with him a few years back because he left the country with his parents) who was not straight at all (he - i assume he still lives - swings both ways)) i just do not like to watch them or have them ask me out
It's really annoyed me that some straight guys think that gay guys would automatically be attracted to them simply because they're males. Unless you look like Ryan Gosling or something, you don't have to be worried about beeing hit on by other guys.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the whole LI deal...not because I think it's bad in theory. I think it's awesome how Bioware handles them. And I think it's good for the game. But from a personal level....well, whether I'm trying to stop the Reapers,or an Arch Demon, I have other things on my mind then getting laid. Like...my impending doom. Not that that stopped me from getting Morrigan...but hey! It. Was. Morrigan. 'nuf said.
I think more options are almost always a good thing, as long as they're well done and relatively tasteful.

In order to romance Steve, you have to take the option that asks him flat out if he thinks your'e hot.
Seriously.
You can take every single Paragon option and Paragon interrupt right up to that point in the bar when he walks you into an opportunity to say whether or not you're into men or women. You can either ask Steve if he thinks you're hot, or say you're looking at the dancing Asari girls. And guess how it plays out if you answer the Asari girls? He jokes that he wouldn't want you for competition, and it's totally cool.
These complaints are misinformed or disingenuous, and I'm going with both.

I don't think she'd be a gussied-up trollop. I imagine shed be similar to Anora but maybe less ****y. But, that depends on whether or not you think Anora is a trollop.Face of Evil wrote...

The way it was handled in Mass Effect 3 was fine. The way it was handled with Anders though was garbage.

You mean where he reacts poorly once, takes a negligable rivalry hit that you can easily compensate for, and is never an issue again?
There isn't a whole lot of daylight between your concept of "fine" and your concept of "garbage."

While people complain about Anders hitting on them, they ignore that Isabela also hit on them regardless of whether they're interested. I don't see girls complaining when Isabela hits on them, but a lot of guys are uncomfortable with Anders hits on them. Honestly, some people make it like Anders consistently stalks them or something when they use the word "keep" to describe an brief encounter with him. Is 10 rivalry points that important? You can almost max out your relationship with Anders before Act 1 ends, provided that you see rivalry is a punishment.PlumPaul82393 wrote...
