Hi just playing ME1 and Mass Effect for the fire time.
Can I have some personal input on who is the best to romance for Male Shepard?
I like both Ashley and Liara, although haven't met her yet.
Should I romance Ashley in ME1, Miranda for ME2 and then Liara for ME3?

And who should I let die, Ashley or Kaiden?

Don't think there is a best. In various playthroughs I've had Shepards of both sexes romance both options.

That's a tough one. It would be between Liara and Ashley. I would say Liara by an inch.

Ashley trolls you HARD in ME2. Depending on how deeply you identify with your avatar, you'll probably be less angry if you don't romance her in ME.

I did. My insight is that having romanced all three ME1 LIs in various playthroughs with a mix of paragon, renegade and paragade blokesheps and femsheps there really isn't a best. There's just differences, some of which may float your boat and some of which may not, but none of which elevated any one of the three over the other two for me. And yes, I have also played romanceless games of ME1, which are perhaps a little more realistic (I'd hope a professional CO wouldn't start sleeping with subordinates) but at the same time might make some players a little less invested in their Shepard. If you put a gun to my head I'd probably say I prefer to drop the in game romances altogether or go with Liara, but as I've said I've done all possibilities and really don't rate any particular one as best.

Liara is "better" treated in terms of content.

It's really up to what *you* like though in terms of personality. I really could never relate to Ashley, but maybe you do. (I personally like the ME2/3 romances better, but that's just me. Liara's OK.)

For me, Liara is the best one to romance. She has the most content when it comes to that. You'll get more from her than from any other romance option. I usually go for her.

Ashley is good to, so it's good to see that one through a second playthrough.

Miranda is good for ME2 and then you can switch to Ashley if you wish or stay with Liara.

Currently, I'm playing through ME3 right now and I have romanced Liara in the first game, maintainerd it in the second game and again in the third.

I agree with the others here, though. It really depends on your taste and what your going for. :)

I always felt Liara was sort of forced on you in ME1. I mean, I'm just talking to her like I would talk to a woman in real life, being a nice guy. Next thing I know she's all in my face about the deep spirituality of Asari mating rituals. WTF? I just wanted to chat. SHEESH! she's already planning the colors of the curtains in our house! I pretty much skipped LI in ME1; the idea of a Commander romancing one of his crew? It's just off putting to me, on a personal level.

In ME2, I picked Jack. Hey, she wasn't in my crew; she was safe! Well, as safe as a super powered heavily damaged crazy woman can be.... Miranda was just to uppity for my liking, and never really cared for Ashley all that much.

I'm just glad Wrex was never made a romance option...
