Gonna toy with the CC a bit more today later on, and was wondering what to make next....

City or Dalish elf?

Female City Elf Rogue?
Female City Elf Warrior?

Female Dalish Elf Rogue?
Female Dalish Elf Warrior?

My dwarf commoner is already a warrior.... and I think I did a dalish rogue, but it turned out pretty cruddy...

Sooo.. suggestions? Image IPB

yeah I noticed, so I edited... it'd rock though

I think I'm leaning towards city elf... it just seems so angsty

My first four playthroughs are:

Male human noble.
Female dwarven commoner.
Female human mage.
Female city elf.

Even though female city elf is my fourth playthrough, I'm really looking forward to that origin story.

Nothing like being nearly violated and having all your bridesmaids butchered to get you in the mood for revenge.

City Elf can be angsty, it can also be a Roaring Rampage of Revenge (I spend FAR too much time on TVtropes) and pure fierce disgust at anyone.
What it is NOT is unemotional, which to a greater extent, the Dalish could be.

I favour City Elf.

Edit: This is not to disparage all you Dalish out there! I favour it more since I'm a big fan of the woodsy sort of Elves. But I reckon City Elf for the purposes of this particular thread.

Technically an elf mage is assumed to come from the Alienage, as a Dalish elf mage is a Keeper, or the apprentice.

My first character is a female city elf (to the left), I have a female Dalish elf as my fifth, male city elf as my eighth, and male dalish elf as my tenth.

If I ever get around to all of that anyway. :P

I think I narrowed my plays down

1. Female Dwarf Commoner

2. Female City Elf

3. Male Human Mage

I'm gonna play the noble classes last, and probably the dalish before that....

I dunno why, but I'm seeing human noble and mage as males for some odd reason....

Already made characters for playthroughs of all 6 origins, and perhaps I'll make more after beating the game with these 6.

1. Male Human Mage

2. Female Common Dwarf Warrior

3. Female City Elf Rogue

4. Female Human Noble Warrior

5. Male Dwarf Noble Rogue

6. Male Dalish Elf Warrior.

I hope the game is good or else I've wasted an hour making 5 useless characters.

Its Bioware... have they ever let fans down?

I'm not stuck weather to make city elf or human mage...

Wasted an hour?

You enjoyed making those characters. Any time spent enjoying yourself isn't a waste.

Assuming you mean "now"- sorry, I'm pedantic like that, sorry- I still say city elf.

Grab your sword and stab some corrupt nobility in the throat. Additionally, you'll just be a second-class citizen, as opposed to wielding cosmic energies and getting stabbed by templars.

Elves seem best suited for Mage, that being said here is what I would do...

If I want a warrior that uses archery then Dalish Elf is the way to go since they start with Pinning Shot. If I want a warrior who can dual-wield then I go for City Elf since they start with Dual-Weapon Sweep. Either choice is fine if I want to make a sword & board warrior.

For a rogue I like city elf since they get Coercion which seems more useful than the Dalish's Survival. But that is a large part guesswork.

City elf first playthrough, indubitably. Next will be my beloved elf mage. Third will be a human noble warrior. I'll eventually get around to the Dalish... and that one will likely be a ranger. A xenophobic ranger. Hehe.

My plan is to play like this :

1. Male Human Noble Warrior OR Male Elf Dalish Warrior (I would have to test the begin before)

2. Femelle Elf Mage

3. Femelle Elf City Rogue

Perhaps a dwarf also..

City elves may have tattoos, yes. Dalish have special tattoos of their deities.

Tattoos in the game are cosmetic, so it doesn't really matter. Lore-wise, Dalish have facial tattoos to represent the god they worship, but since there's no translation, that's rather meaningless. City Elves (and anyone else) can have tattoos just for the heck of it.

Dwarf Commoners have tattoos to mark that they are casteless, so that the nobility knows who to look down on, but in the CC Dwarf Nobles can have tattoos too. Doesn't mean anything.

Everyone can have a tattoo, but for some it's more important than others, eh?

Edit: I swear to God, do you mind-read my intent to post? Image IPB

Though the only thing I know Dalish elves are from TST, I would think playing as an alienage elf would be more enjoyable especially after reading The Calling.

I like the city elf origin, it'll probably be my second playthrough. I just love the whole "Vengeful Bride" thing. Very Kill Bill. ...and now I'm tempted to name my city elf Uma. :D
