Upgrading to Windows 8 was probably the best thing I've done for my NWN installation. The game is running quite nicely and I don't need to use any of those silly compatibility modes like I did with Vista and Win 7.
My system specs are nothing special - maybe that's the key to success (at least in my case)...
Win 8 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i3 550 CPU @ 3.20 GHz
6.00 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce GT-240 (w/ 1.00 GB VRAM)
Anyone else care to weigh in?
NWN and Windows 8

Yours is the first positive comment on it that I've run across.

<tip-toeing in...>
Things generally work better (though I miss my GForce 305M and the fingerprint log on).
I *did* just now discover that my beloved Speccy crashes under 8 else my response would have been about 10 minutes earlier :-/
Win 8 Pro 64
Intel Core i3 U330@1.2
8GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics (integrated) Lost the use of the NVidea chip when I upgraded. It conflicts with Displaylink and I'd rather have two monitors than faster graphics :-P

Yeah... I'll third that. I had all kinds of problems running the toolset in Vista, but everything runs pretty much flawlessly in Win 8.

I've actually reverted back to Win 7 but NOT because of issues with NWN. My issues centered around a lot of the third party tools I use to make CC. Once I started reinstalling them in Win 8 I ran into all sorts of fiddly issues ranging from import/export to rendering issues.
