Greetings,
Unfortunately my first post in the forums is regarding an issue I have.
I bought Dragon Age yesterday, installed it without problems then entered two codes that came with the package. They are for Stone Prisoner and Blood Armor, written in a card that was in the dvd-box. Redeeming was successful online, so I entered the game to Downloadable content page.
What happened was, the game successfully downloaded (at least looks so on the DLC page in the game) the content, but while or after it tries extracting the files, it failed; notifying me that "Install failed". Happened for both Stone Prisoner and Blood Armor.
I poked around forums a bit and I think I tried everything in the unofficial support topic, in addition to official topics, including but not limited to: deleting manifest.xml and other xmls, deleting downloaded dazips and trying to install web-downloaded (from the links in the unofficial FAQ) dazips via the updater software, restarting the service...
Every time, I had the same problem. Even when I downloaded the dazips from those links and hand-placed them in the required folder, I had an install failed error.
When I tried the updater program where you select dazip files and install them, I also encounter an error.
During all these downloads and problems, I also discovered Dragon Age: Journeys and decided to play it too. I gained two items (Amulet of the War Mage and uhm. ring of.. the uhm.. ring... the-other-item-that-is-not-helm-of-the-deeps). When I logged to Dragon Age though... the dire situation welcomed me once again: Install failed.
Anyway, any insight and help is greatly appreciated. I'd like to start the whole play with the DLCs and I dare not buy Warden's Keep or any other stuff with these problems; which means I dare not play the game.
If required, here are my PC specifications according to Dragon Age: Configurations Utility:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000 + , 2611 Clock Speed
2.99 GB Physical Memory
ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series adapter with 512mb ram (it's a 4670)
Running Microsoft Vista Home Basic

Well, problem solved. For future viewers, what I did was to enter Control Panel in windows, open Regional and Language Settings and in the first tab, pick English (USA). Then I used daupdater program to manually install dazips. I didn't even have to download them from somewhere else, the dazips that the game had downloaded worked just fine (under "C:\\\\\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\\\\\All Users\\\\\\\\Application Data\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\" ->DaUpdater->Data)
Again, for future viewers and googles, go to http://social.biowar...8/index/81613/1 for many, many solutions. I found this solution on the current last page.
