Wow....I honestly don't even remember who that is. It's been forever since I've played DA2 lol.

I can't blame you as her facial features, and clothing were generic.

And I'm sure if she became a companion this would cease to be the case, and there would be much rage.

I swear I played to end game a dozen times before I gave the disk to a friend and I never got the letter to start the quest to meet her. Just looked at her wikipedia her hair actually looks kind of nice it just looks like graphics don't do it justice.

Ok then, I'll redefine normal as: Not homicidal or possessed.

Given how much combat there is in Dragon Age, not even your protagonist could qualify for those criteria.

I mean not a murderer. I don't class shepard or the warden or hawke as murderers

What makes the killings Shepard, Hawke, or the Warden commit different from the killings the companions that you dislike commit?

Well I can't speak for yours, but my Shepards, Hawkes and Wardens avoid combat at all costs, and only attacks if there is truly no other option or if they are attacked.

Plus, I don't dislike those companions at all, I love Anders as a character, I find him fascinating; I was merely saying that I don't think they are normal. Don't you see the difference?

I think there'll be rage no matter what is done with her appearance.

I don't recall hearing about various attacks and/or killings that the companions committed when not in the presence of Hawke or the Warden. So if they are taking the PC's cue as to when to engage in combat, how are they held to a different standard?

You previously qualified "normal" as "Not homicidal or possessed." So far as I remember, only Wynne and Anders were possessed, after a fashion, as in they shared a bond with a spirit. That's certainly an unusual status to be in, even for the DA-verse, but not unheard of.

I think hoorayforicecream summed it up best with something she posted, which I will quote, in part:

I don't think the word "normal" is the word you should be using to describe an adventurer. I think "type of personality that I like" is more accurate.

I'm done talking. All I was saying is that some characters are more level headed and reasonable than others, and this is my basis for normality in the contenxct of DA2, and I thought of Charade to be level headed.

If you really care this much to be arguing semantics instewad of giving your actual opinion, maybe you should start a thread debating what people mean by normal instead.

Now either contribute to the discussion of Charade as a viable companion, or please leave the thread.

It's hard to argue semantics when you keep changing the definition almost every post. If you can't even present a consistent and defensible definition of "normal", how can you expect anyone to take you seriously?

That said, I'm all for abnormal companions. I like them. It makes them much more interesting to me than a milquetoast ordinary person thrown into a crazy situation. I want an elven warrior with the drive to prove she is a better knight than any human. I want a smarmy scoundrel of a rogue who talks big, but has a heart of gold. I want an obsessed fire mage who will stop at nothing to get revenge on those that scarred him. I want a somewhat insane, but lovable barbarian who dedicates himself to defeating evil in the name of justice. I want an eccentric tinker who joins the hero in order to find the missing pieces to his greatest invention. I want a

Part of the fun of fantasy is fantasy. Larger-than-life personas and interesting extremes. I've got plenty of normality in real life, I don't need it in my games.

Agreed, but we need somone levelheaded to contrast the nutheads with. Like Aveline and Varric.

Levelheaded doesn't necessarily equate to normal though. Varric's got a crazy family and a brother who tried to kill the protagonist. I described Aveline before. They just need to be level-headed.  ^_^

Could someone please post a picture of this person? I still am completely clueless who this person is and I beat the game like 3 times, so I feel pretty dumb right now haha.

It's okay.

She was in a side quest for Gamlen's letter in Act III of Dragon Age II.

Personally, I'd like it if she at least had an appearance in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Charade would be a welcomed addition for a companion in my book. I thought she could of been added in da2 after finishing her quest.

She didn't have much of an impact on me to be honest. I don't really see where the appeal is to have her as a companion

Edit: Not that i'm against her joining, of course. Given Biowares track record with making compelling characters, I'm sure they could do a stellar job at making a stone an engaging companion (which, now that I think about it, they did :P)

Sure. I liked Charade. She was clever. Strong. Not afraid to tell a gang of thugs, "No." Yet, still showed sum vulnerability in not knowing how to deal w/the sitch of Gamlen.

Yeah. Although, the prostitute eyeshadow would have to go....what?

I like this idea. Charade seemed like a nice and capable character. I would like to see her return.

Hahaha, indeed, although I still don't see the point in arguing over the word instead of actually contributing to the thread.

Speaking of contributing to the thread, do you have any input or are you just being a little rude? Image IPB
