Only if there's no Carver/Bethany. I'd rather have them. Didn't feel much one way or the other about Charade, except a vague curiosity about why she looked nothing like her family, that led to me wondering if she really *was* Gamlen's daughter.

Though I'd prefer Carver/Bethany too, I also wouldn't mind Charade. She was one of my favorite NPCs in DA2. I always look forward to her quest.

Well I imagine they didn't have the resources to make her have the adaptable appearance from a design decision she was after all only there for a single quest, From a story stand point Gamlen mentions that she looked like her mother and was lucky she didn't look like him.

I dunno how I feel about Carver/Bethany returning. I liked them both to be clear (actually Carver was my favorite DA2 companion) but I'm worried that their return would be a lot like Ashley/Kaidan's in ME3 where they have very few lines that aren't interchangeable. I sincerly hope I'd be wrong though.

I like Charade, I'd like having both her and Bethany back. Charade was a good solid character from what we learned about her, but has plenty of mystery so she'd seem a lot like a new character as well.

Please no! She has an awful hairstyle, awful.

If she changes her hairstyle in DA3, I'm all for it, otherwise, no.

I'm performing thread-necromancy on this thing, and I know that's probably frowned on, but I wanted to say that I, too, am all for this. I liked Charad. She wasn't on-screen long enough to develop a whole lot of personality, but I liked what she did with the time she had. As party rogue I see her as the "adventurer" type. Not the kind of person who's likely to break into someone's house and steal their stuff (unless the protagonist makes her), but the kind who makes a habit of delving into dank caves to dig up ancient knick-knacks and bric-a-brac.

Also, I can see her in cut-scenes occasionally writing letters to Gamlen: "Dear Dad, to answer your questions from your previous letter: Yes the play wallop out here, but I couldn't tell you if there's much betting going on, the business you asked about says their massages are 50 silver for the cheap massage, 1 gold for standard massage and 2 gold for a premium massage. That's quite a lot of money for a massage, why are you so interested in massages, I thought your back was feeling better since getting the new chair. And I did order the drink you suggested, but the stray drops put burn marks on the table, so I decided against actually drinking it. Have to go now, undead horde is attacking the village. Give my best to cousin (Hawke's first name). - Charad."

Nah, Charade was pretty unremarkable as a character. You can go through DAII without even meeting her if you choose not to do the quest.

Yes she was a good character, an amazingly normal person as opposed to all the extreme companions we always get.

Not too good a judge of character, though.

Even I could tell Mekel was untrustworthy. Only a truly disturbed mind could think those muttonchops were a good look.

She probably gets that from her mother. She did hook up with Gamlen after all.

Thinking about it today, I think she would make a great companion.

1) She seemed fairly normal, which is certainly a good trait bearing in mind other companions we've had
2) She seemed quite good in combat
3) She provides a link back to Hawke
4) She can't be dead

So, what do you guys think? Her character development could be different if you never introduce her to gamlen or never met her.

I would love that! I never thought of her as a companion before but those are some really good reasons to have her around.

No. A lot of the names from DA2 made me facepalm and Charade is one of them. Lady Elegant is another of those names which makes me sigh.

Charade has little personality and is very random to meet.

Meh. Only 'minor character coming back as an important one' I'd like is Athenril tbh.

I'd rather have everybody new for once.

I dunno. She was ok, I guess, but not overly blessed with common sense. Instead of just going to her father's house and introducing herself, thus finding out what sort of man he was like a normal person, she comes up with an overly complex hair brained scheme involving legendary jewels and mercenaries of dubious honor. A scheme that would have gotten her father kidnapped or killed had he followed up on it, and which did put herself and her cousin in mortal danger.

A scheme that singularly failed to produce any insight into her father at all, and resulted in her going to his house and meeting him like a normal person anyway.

Then again, Leliana was popular, so maybe Charade could fill out the ditzy archer quota for the party.

Honestly, I'd prefer a clean slate.

I didn't really like how they brought in a bunch of small, side characters from Origins to be your party members in DA2, especially since they completely revamped all of them so much so that they were rather unrecognizable (ie: Isabella, Anders, and Merril).

It seemed ridiculous. If you are going to change a character so much, why not simply make a new one instead of breaking continuity for nostalgia's sake?

Merrill and Anders were botched. I don't know why they changed Isabela's body.

Athenril would be awesome!  But isn't she dead in some playthroughs?

Charade was a pretty boring and bland character to be honest. At least to me. Wouldn't want her back as a companion.

It would be nice to see her in DA3 as in DA2 she had the fighting skills like Hawke but then again because we are not going to be playing as Hawke it would kind of feel silly really but yeh it would be nice to see a glimpse of her now and again :)
